Stavanger Mosvangen Camping

Done loads of camping all around Europe over the past 2 years, this was one of the most basic sites we stayed at (not considering the very south of Europe like Italy or South of France which cost a fraction of Mosvangen though). Never seen a cabin without running water or toilet. 60NOK extra for the kitchen which is an electric 2 hob cooker and a fridge. Borrowed a pot from reception to make some tea. No cutlery, no plates, no cups etc provided, don't think 60NOK is very reasonable. Only one shower/wc block - at the opposite end of the campsite so you really think twice whether you get up during the night. 4 bed cabin has 2 bunk beds in the room at the back, and a tiny table with 4 folding chairs, fridge, bench with cooker and big couch in the front room. Would have rather had a double bed or bigger dining table (which fits 3 people at the max.) instead of the couch. Camping for us is about a place to sleep, cook and eat, couch is probably meant as a treat but seemed a waste of space/wrong priorities.
Girl at the reception was very nice as was the email contact we had prior to booking and arrival.

We stayed at Mosvangen camping in the middle of May paying NOK650 for a 4-people cabin (per night). Since we didn't want to spend lots of money on accommodation this place was the cheapest we could find. Cabin consists of 2 rooms: in the first one there is fridge, cook, table, and sofa, the next room is sleeping one with 2 bunk beds (with pillows and blankets) and the mirror:) Toilets with showers are located outsite the cabins. In the reception you can get some utensils. Camping is located in a walking distance from the city centre (a 30-minute walk) in a very nice surrounding (lake and park). If you want to go to Pulpit Rock there is a bus station nearby - bus will take you to ferry which goes to Tau, from Tau there will be another bus taking you to the bottom of Pulpit Rock.

Enjoy your trip!

Stayed here for a week in August - wanted to travel to see the Pulpi Rock etc but had heard Stavanger was expensive so wasn't sure what this would be like - had booked a cabin for me and a friend and it was great, we had bunk beds, 2 hob cooker and a small fridge -and we paid for utensils for the week, staff were v relaxed, had to pay small amount for hot shower but toilets, showers were clean, safe - and there's a couple of coookers and bbq and eating area aswell.
So many other campers of all sorts - cars, tents, camper vans but all was friendly - definitely stay here on another trip.
Bus stop is only 5 min walk away and there is an underroad tunnel that will bring you into camp site so all good.
