We had great holidays while staying one night in this very pleasant hotel flying in from Oslo and heading North to Bergen - staff was very helpful while food was absolutely great (breakfast and dinner). Wifi was fine and parking (to be paid) was close by. Shortcomings: lock of the entrance door and the shower room.

Scandic Forum is a clean and friendly hotel in Stavanger. It's situated not far from the city center (walking distance) , but still out of the most crowded and noisy part. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the top floor bar and restaurant is very nice. The breakfast was adequate - nothing really missing , but the selection was less than in most other Scandic hotels. For business purposes the Wi-Fi works fine, and my fifth floor room had adequate working space.
On the downside, Scandic hotels can never be characterized as "cozy" or "warm"; the room is almost void of anything but a bed, a TV and a desk. The clean, hard floors, clean walls (sorry: one poster) and bright down lights, makes the impression almost industrial, and Scandic Forum is right up there. One annoyance: the style is kept in the bathroom, including three ceiling lights in the middle of the room. I do not spend hours in front of the mirror, but checking the face before I head for a new day is part of the routine, but because of the lighting, you can hardly see your face. The women of my family would not have been happy.
In short: an efficient, clean - in all aspects of the word - and good hotel at a reasonable price, best suited for a business use.

Dear Jørn,
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your sincerity and the feedback you provide us.
About the breakfast, I would like to mention that according to different factors not all Scandics have the same level of variety. But we do all have a basic standart on it. I will send your room feedback onwards to our General Manager.
Thank you again, and have a nice summer.

We spent one night here on a Trafalgar tour. Would definitely NOT recommend it. The room is narrow and dark and dreary. The bathroom is so small you can barely turn around. The shower is laughable. I've seen camping showers that were larger. There were 2 twin beds that were designed for midgets - if you turn over in your sleep, you might wake up on the floor.

Amenities- not sure they know what these are. No room safe, no actual closet ( in fairness, there were 4 hangers in some open area. Not even tissues in the bathroom, lotion or any other basic amenities.

Mattress is about 2 inches thick.

Dinner provided was good though. Staff is not well trained. One person asked what kind of soup we were served. Her answer, "I don't know." She never bothered to even find out.

Not sure it could get much worse!

Firstly the room was extremely small and very hot despite requesting to turn down the heater no action taken.requested for tissue box promised but never delivered.
Worst of all were the chef and that lady in charge at restaurant for dinner at hotel arranged by TRAFALGAR. Despite a list of options given to the kitchen ,the staff just lacked creativity ,were indifferent and rude and served just boiled pasta with a mere sprinkle of fine cut vegetables carrot and cauli. Meal was disgusting and kitchen staff were indifferent. Such staff will damage the reputation of hotel.

Room tip: Give this hotel a miss the staff need educating

Tour hotel with Trafalgar. Arrived slightly late but tour director kindly advised them of our late arrival and they kindly had dinner ready for us. Room was of adequate size and facilities. Waiting staff were friendly but seemed a little rushed at such a large group at once (48 of us). Had to ask for condiments such as salt and pepper for the tables. Otherwise food was good - I think it was 3 courses, the main being fish. I loved the dessert!

As this was the tour hotel, would not be looking at staying here again in the near future as there wasn't much in local area.
