A relaxed and modern dining space in the centre of Stavanger.
The shared starter bowls of mussels(plump and succulent), mayo and frites started the meal perfectly.
The fish (Brosme) was cooked to perfection according to one of our group as were the 3 entrecotes (rare, med rare and medium).
The staff need to promote the daily blackboard specials a bit more actively - there were some nice things on there but one of our party had to read out to the rest of the table.
I'd return if they promised not to serve the steaks on cold plates again!!!

This is a great place, appropriate for friends, family or a date. The atmosphere is warm but's still a cool place :) It's contemporary, the menu features very fresh and local ingredients of high quality and in season. What more could you ask for?
Oh yeah; service, location and price.
Well, the service is good, the wait staff is smiling, polite and attentive. (Sometimes a bit clumsy, but saves it with charm :) and it actually kinda gives the whole place a bit of a relaxed feel)
The location is pretty good, it's dead in the center of Stavanger town, and easy to find. There isn't much of a view, or an outside area. But once you're inside, you don't really miss it.
The price is as the price is in Norway. Good thing about Renaa is that you have a choice of eating downstairs where it's more fancy and expensive, or upstairs in "the foodbar" where the food is still great and the prices are more accommodating.
All in all, great place, great location, great fresh food made by great chefs and a safe bet any day :)
I've been here several times, always left full and happy.

Not counting the bonus that I was seated next to two gorgeous young ladies, presumably by accident, I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious halibut dinner and the glass of red wine. And the service was excellent. This was my 7th different restaurant in Stavanger and definitely the best and not the most expensive by far.

With a group of collegues we had a nice relaxed meal in pleasant surroundings. Nice fresh and tasty bread to start with. I had the lamb shank as a main and was tasty and well cooked. Service was a bit slow but the place was quite busy. They have a good selection of beers.

We went a normal friday evening to eat in the ´Renaa Restaurant´ and were welcomed in the cellar by a very polite Danish waiter who took our coats and showed us to our table. One of us went with the wine package, while we both went with the 12 course-dinner.

At the time of writing this review, we lack the detailed memory of every single course and wine, but it is sufficient to say that the remaining impression from the evening leave most words in vain. Some of the courses, as well as the wines, left us with the seldom WOW-feeling that gets more and more unusual the more restaurant you have been to, and the older you have become.

Some of the wines were truly gems of nature, and so was the food. Being used to that Stavanger food prides itself beyond boredom from using most ingredients locally from Jæren, I was shocked to find that something as simple as the chicken was from Alsace in Northern France. While other parts of the food, like some small mushrooms, had found their way from Japan. The food was delicious. The presentation of it at times like masterly art.

Just a few days after visiting this restaurant we were to visit Budapest. Visiting Renaa Restauranten eliminated any need we had to search for elite restaurants in Hungary. We did already find it right next to where we live, in Stavanger, and we both agreed that we believe close to nothing can top this.

I might push your expectations way too high with this review, but we expected very good food and being a reviewer with some experience, we believe you will not go wrong visiting Renaa Restauranter.
