We stayed in the room 47 (in the Molja Lighthouse) and it was a very unique experience!
It was very romantic and cosy. The room is very small, but it is very nicely decorated.
The only thing that I did not like at all is that tourists come often close to the lighthouse and try to open the door - and it felt a bit strange when late in the night someone tried to open the door as well. But, as I said, it was an unique experience and we are glad we did it.

Room Tip: Room 47 is in the Molja Lighthouse.

Stayed there for two nights with a larger group and it went perfectly fine. Check in was done smooth and quickly and all were satisfied with their room. And the rooms are fine, the bathroom is small, but with all you need. The rainfall shower is perfect! The only thing I was missing was a main switch for all the lights, but really no fuzz without it. The breakfast is delicious! We ate one night in the restaurant Maki, delicious food and probably the best seafood restaurant on the North West coast of Norway. I will for stay there again.

We recently stayed at thislovelyboutique hotel in alesand. We stayed there on our vacation during my husband's birthday. Everyone in the hotel wished him a happy birthday. Room was bigger than our other fjord hotels. Location excellent for wandering around this gorgeous town. Tookflybusssen from airport. Very easy.

Alesund is arguably Norway's most beautiful fjord town, situated on the coast line between Bergen and Molde. It is the entry point for the Geirangerfjord and therefore has potential for a twin centre. The rule of thumb therefore is to stay somewhere that matches the beauty of the city and in a country where non business character hotels are tough to find, the Brosundet is a real find.

It's situated in the old part of town, down by the water in a beautiful old building which has bags of character and a warmth that the usual business selections simply cannot match.

The reception area has lots of charm, an open fire will warm the weary traveller and the staff are delightful and full of good advice in terms of places to visit and activities.

Rooms are, as many have said before small, there is no getting away from that, but they are well equipped and the bathrooms are nicely laid out. There's lovely decor and a feeling that the hotel itself is part of the historical fabric of Alesund.

The dining at the hotel is arguably the real highlight. The four course dinner I enjoyed was utterly stunning, one of the best meals I've had in Norway. The staff gave some great advice on accompanying wines too which is always nice.

I did treat myself to a beer in the bar, a well stocked fridge had some excellent and unusual selections and the bar staff really knew their stuff. A Norwegian beer was served up and provided loads of flavour, although I should say that the prices in the bar are not exactly affordable, but that's hardly news, drinks are expensive in Norway.

All in all, the Brosundet is a lovely place for tourists to stay in Alesund, it has charm, character and is brilliantly located, however, you have to make allowances for the size of room and this might be the element that turns away business people who want a little more working space.

Brosundet is Nice, ideally located in the heart of alesund. The view from the restaurant amazing. Service is very good. But rooms are too small, we can Just turn around the bed. Bathroom is 1,5m2. We planned to stay 2 nights in brosundet but because of that we move to clarion collection bryggen.

Putting to one side the issue of the rooms being 'compact', this really is a great place to stay. It's a fabulous building, great location and the public areas of the hotel - especially the waterside seating by the front entrance and the comfy fireside sofas in the lobby - have been created to ensure your time there is relaxing. The staff were just brilliant - you really feel they want you to have a great time. We loved the breakfast room and the range of fresh local produce available - great to sit and look out at the boats pottering up and down.

What a lovely little hotel in a wonderful little Art Nuevo town. I had a room with a water view, hard wood floors a wonderful soft light infused bathroom due to excellent use of frosted glass surround. Hardwood floors and a soft pallet leave one relaxed and is pleasing to the eye. There is a soft smell of wood in the hall that reminds one of a mountain Spa. Service and breakfast are wonderful... Lobby is as tasteful as the rooms. My only complaint is lake of counter space in the bathroom, with everything else so thoughtfully considered right down to excellent lighting it was annoying to sort out toiletries. There as wall space for a shelf .. why not put one in? Parking was also a little crazy. but really its nit picking.. I loved this hotel. Do drive try taking the E6 to the 136 going and the E60 to the E16 returning to Oslo ... its one diverse breath taking scene after another another.

Room Tip: If you don't like your room Im shocked, but ask to see another.. mine was excellent on the first...
