We selected Pingvinen (the penguin) based off of a Google Map search and were very pleased. It's a small place and always someone waiting at the door to get into this pub and eat some wonderful grub.

We had three orders of the meatballs - seriously delicious - and one order of the Plakkfisk, which was incredible if you like fish. Hearty portions and delectable, if not slightly over seasoned. We also had an appetizer and two desserts (OK) but we were so happy we got in quickly (10 minute wait) to this popular spot for drinks, dinner, or late night snacks!

Atmospheric gastropub which provides a limited but tasty range of meals. The beer is brilliant and whilst might be considered expensive isn't for Norway.

A lovely little dive with a nice atmosphere. The children enjoyed it but it is maybe better enjoyed by couples or groups of adults. Food was good and all dishes were traditional Norwegian recipes. Not a great variety of dishes on offer but all were very good.

We had a wonderful lunch here in this rustic, friendly place. I had the potato and garlic soup, which was perfect on a rainy day, and my mom had the portobello mushrooms with Camembert (?) cheese and vegetables, another hearty and flavorful option. There aren't a lot of good lunch options in Bergen and this was by far the best we had in town.

Great spot for authentic Norwegian food. Highly recommend the fish pie or the whale. They also had a great selection of beers, and the bartender even offered us samples of the cider to try.
