We stayed 3 nights in one of the apartments on the 2nd floor. Spacious, nicely decorated, and well equipped kitchen . It has 2 separate rooms, which is perfect for 4 adults. The place is also very well maintained and clean. It took us about 15 mins to walk to town, pretty convenient, with grocery shops and supermarket nearby. I agree with the previous reviews that Johan is an excellent host. Booking the apartment with him was a breeze, prompt replies and confirmation. He was also very helpful in providing us with lots of information on the places of interests and dining recommendations in Bergen. The only small inconvenient which we encountered was that the water tank ran out of hot water on 2 (out of 3) evenings... which we just had to wait awhile for it to reheat.

We stayed in the larger of the two apartments which was extremely comfortable and spacious. It's a pleasant walk into town of about 15 minutes either via the coastal road or an elevated road with nice views across the bay. There are also frequent buses if the weather isn't so good.
Johan is an excellent host and from the moment we booked supplied us with copius information about what was on whilst were in town, transport, weather, restaurants to try...etc! Everything we needed to make the most of our stay. If we return we would definitely stay here again, highly recommended!

We spent two nights in this great apartment and would definitely stay again if we came back to Bergen. It is in a lovely area with handy shop close buy and you can walk from the house up the mountain. The owners are fantastic, brilliant communication full of helpful tips and the apartment was spotless. The apartment is huge with a separate lounger, separate dining room , separate kitchen and separate bedroom (with a separate storage room), the wifi is excellent and very quick. It is a short walk from the city centre but we really liked the walk in.

We decided to visit Bergen for the Valentine's week-end and thought we would give this place a go after reading the good reviews online - we were not disappointed!

Even before our trip Johan made suggestions of places we could visit, things to do, places to eat etc. via e-mail and supplied us with useful information about how to get around and to the apartment after arriving at the airport - making planning our trip super easy.

We arrived in the evening on Friday and Johan welcomed us and showed us the flat. The apartment was perfect - warm, comfy, spacious and felt like home away from home. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived for our stay. Johan asked us about our plans and was genuinely interested that we enjoy his city and home - he even gave us tips and advice all throughout our trip via e-mail.

It was quite bad weather outside but the flat was surprisingly nice and warm. The floored heating in the bathroom was an extra treat. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything that we could possibly have wanted and there was wifi throughout the flat. The bed was super comfy and the living room was such a nice place to relax in in the evenings, with several channels on the TV in English.

The apartment exceeded our expectations and for the same price as a hotel room, the experience was 1000 x better, with the added bonus of Johan's help and suggestions.

I have stayed here twice during 2013. Once in the smaller apartment with my boyfriend, which was cosy and had everything one should need. Second time with my family during the christmas holidays in the bigger flat. Both apartments are charming and clean, and Johan the owner made us feel right at home. I would recommend this apartment to both couples, friends and family visiting Bergen. It is located in Sandviken but the buses are running all day long and you will never have to wait more than 10 minutes for one. Or you could easily walk into the city centre in 20 minutes.

My husband and I spent two nights in this beautifully decorated apartment during our honeymoon in Scandinavia. Johan greeted us with several brochures & information regarding Bergen, he was extremely friendly & full of information! We also loved that he provided us with coffee & chocolate for our stay! The apartment was conveniently located, very comfortable & cozy! Would love to visit again sometime! :)

The apartments are a short distance from the bus stop, and a short walk from the Fish Market. They are run by friendly, helpful, and English-speaking Johan Fredrik. He rents two homey, modern, and comfortable rooms in his home. Our studio flat had its own entrance, private bath, well-furnished kitchen, double-bed, and other amenities. It was a fine alternative to normal hotels.
