Great welcome in a Historic Hotel, Not for the less than agile. Stairs!!!, and located at top of steep hill. Rooms need to be soundproofed ,bit by bit. This would enhance the stay tremendously/ Staff, helpful,& friendly;Breakfast buffet first class, only a 10 minute walk to harbour, or a £14 taxi ride!! Nothing is cheap in Norway. Lovely city, lovely people. If you don't have a mobility problem, and don't mind a bit of next door Room "noise", A very good Hotel in Quiet area of Bergen town.

Room Tip: try a ground floor room, stairs won't be a problem!!

This was the best choice hotel of Bergen in a great location. I booked this hotel last minute as there was no available hotels happily i chose the last single room in Park hotel Bergen. The Hotel is very nice very traditional style with amazing views of the Flojbanen. The City center was only 10 minutes walk away so you have a piece after the crowded city life plus a very safe area. The train station was just 10 minutes away so I got easily there for the start of my Fjord Cruise trip in less then 10 minutes and even i could have breakfast before that. Great choice of breakfast and the room is also nice, and big enough for a single person. The bathroom was also clean. The only thing was that the water was not very hot while taking shower but it was ok since the weather in Bergen was pretty nice and warm.

All over I enjoyed my stay and I can definitely recommend this hotel compare the other hotels in Bergen this was wort the money as the accommodation is expensive in Norway but this Park Hotel has a style and very friendly reception and hostess as well. Thanks a lot to make my stay so comfortable!

This is the place you can feel really welcome. Any question or request you have they will help you with big smile. I really felt like valuable guest and I wish to find more hotels like this. The interior is very original traditional, our room 111 was spacious and even if placed on the ground floor next to the street, the traffic was not disturbing at all. The only improvement I would suggest is a warm dish like scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast as well as shower gel dispenser instead of soap. Location - walking distance to the city centre and famous Bryggen, fortunately far from the traffic and tourist crowds.

A peculiar hotel with a lot of antiques and every room its own style in this once private home. Cozy atmosphere and truly genuine. Close to the city centre, a 10 minutes easy walk. My ground floor room was large, comfortable beds and with good sized bath. Worried about street noise but none experienced. Personal and service minded reception; a modest but more than sufficient breakfast included. Recommended.

Room Tip: The room on the ground floor besides the reception was very nice. My colleagues staying at the 1st f...

Hotel Park is located at the top of a quite steep hill. There are four steps from street to lobby, 20 steps to Floor 1, 41 steps to Floor 2, and 62 steps to Floor 3, and THERE IS NO ELEVATOR; obviously, this is not a hotel for persons with mobility issues.

10-minute downhill walk to city central, close to botanical garden, train station, university campus. Watch the park immediately behind hotel, as it attracts a rough-ish crowd of drinking buddies.

Breakfast, as others have noted, is in a small-ish room, two- and four-person tables, so there may not be a seat for you during "rush hour," and there is sometimes a line to wait one's turn for food or coffee. Food was fine. Coffee, tea, special brownies available all day long at no extra charge. Beer and wine also available for purchase at desk at prices much less than bars charge. Other non-alcoholic drinks and snacks also available.

Hotel room on top floor was quite small, but with a great view of Bergen. Shades provided for all three windows (only one opens), helpful for long summer days. Two-person bed was matrimonial, not queen. Desk and chair, two other chairs, end tables, and reading lamp provided under eaves. Shower door design did nothing to prevent water from covering entire bathroom floor. No bathmat or washcloths provided. Everything seemed very clean.

Earplug are provided because "this is an historic hotel which can be noisy." We did not need to use ours.

Staff was friendly, engaged, courteous. No fitness center. Wi-fi is a complicated, uber-password-protected system that requires one to enter username and password every time computer is idle for more than a few minutes, and sometimes also required logging in again for no apparent reason, real inconveniences.

Room Tip: 20, 41, or 62 steps up to your room. Choose thoughtfully.

We stayed for 2 nights in the annex across the street in a ground level room that was cozy and comfortable. The staff was great and breakfast was good. The hotel is in a relatively quiet neighborhood about 6 blocks from the train station up a small hill, but we took taxis to/from as it was raining at those times. Taxi fare was surprisingly reasonable considering everything else. There are 2 or 3 very good restaurants withi a block of the hotel, but others in city center are about 15-20 minute walk away. We were able to easily walk to all local tourist sites from the hotel (and we're not big hikers). Bergen is a great small town!

The hotel and its staff are warm and inviting. Yes, the hotel is old without any elevator and the rooms doesn't have a wardrobe and a minibar, but the view from the hotel and the nice staff makes it up for it. The room rent is also less than any hotel near the city center.

Perhaps the spread on the breakfast buffet can change/increase a bit.

Room Tip: Always ask for room 24 or a room with a view.
