Leone di Mare is located on a side street just off of Bergen's fish market. We found this hidden treasure on trip advisor after checking out the uninspiring menu's of the restaurants located in the main areas.

I highly recommend this place. The menu isn't in English but you can guess what most food translates to, and the waitresses were more than happy to talk you through the various dishes. Everyone picked something different, the portions were generous and they all looked as good as each other.

It wasn't very busy when we arrived but by the time we left they had a queue out of the door. And most importantly, it was amazing value for money!

We just happened across this place at Easter when a lot of the places we planned to visit were shut. Honest beautifully cooked Italian food which these days is nearly impossible to find. Plus its also affordable which in Bergen makes the trip worthwhile in itself. Great friendly service too.

I'm not a big fan of pasta, or pizza for that matter, but we wanted to give this place a try.

When we arrived around lunch hour the place was empty, which was a little strange. The service was good and we even got some extras.

I expected the pizza to be more expensive than in the big chains pizza places around town, but it wasn't. Instead it was the best pizza I had in Bergen.

Next time you want to have a pizza or pasta try this place, you won't be disappointed. I know I wasn't.

Me and my friend went here for dinner. We had the Penne with Redpepper sauce, very tasty and delicious! We also had Baked Scampi, it came in a frying pan with a pizzadough lid over the scampi and tomatosauce with veggies - was good, but I missed a little more flavour here, the Pasta was more interesting. Prices ok, service very good. At the end the waitress came with small dessertglasses with lemonsorbet - which all the customers in the restaurant got for free :) And it was really delicious!!

After a couple of meals out in the dire tourist trap restaurants of Bergen we stumbled across this place on Sunday night. What a great find! Real Italian home cooking and very friendly service. We had pizza and escalope Milanese. Both amazing quality. Not quite as expensive as the touristy places but this is Norway so nothing is cheap. Do yourself a favour when in Bergen and seek out this friendly little place. Only a short walk from the harbour too.
