You get reduced admission if you but the Bergen Card. I wish the upper level of the house was open, though.

“Nice surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

This was a pleasant surprise. You start by walking down a mossy tree line forest. Felt like we entered a totally different world. We were able to enjoy a 30 min. recital of Griegs music. I must admit I was not real familiar with Griegs music but recognized some famous pieces of music. Played in the enchanted forest, it was beautiful.

“Well worth the trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

Initially planned to go on the organised trip from tourist office , however this stopped end august and we wanted to go on 2nd Sept. Tourist office advised re where to get the tram and which stop to get off. Tram tickets are bought at the stop at a machine. At the stop there was a map on the shelter re how to walk to the Museum - easy to follow but a good 25 minute walk and we walked briskly. Start by walking back to wards Bergen then turn left at the traffic lights. You can also follow road signs from these lights. Not unpleasant though through a residential area. We noticed quite a few people arrived by taxi. As said previously do try and be there for the 1pm concert which was excellent. Good views from the grounds. Grounds cannot be fully explored if you have mobility problems - paths steep and uneven. Café/toilets/giftshop on site

“history around you”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

A very nice place to see. Museum is not very big but quite interesting. If you go there before 1 p.m. then you can enjoy a lunch concert in Troldsalen. The villa and suroundings are amazing, great views, and it's quite romantic place in the matter of fact. It's worth to go down to Griegs thomb and spent a little time on a small, half naturall promenade :)

“The piano concert alone was worth the ticket!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We arranged our tour through the TI, so we had a nice bus ride to Troldhaugen and then the guided tour of the home, followed by a terrific 30-minute piano concert in the beautiful concert hall. Wonderful!
