We arranged our tour through the TI, so we had a nice bus ride to Troldhaugen and then the guided tour of the home, followed by a terrific 30-minute piano concert in the beautiful concert hall. Wonderful!

This is a must. Booked it at the tourist office, in Bergen, picked up the coach, at 11.30, outside the tourist office. The guide, a young lady, explained everything about Bergen, as we went through. Arrival at the Villa, our escort showed us to the museum & onto the Villa, giving an insight, to his life, you can imagine, with the environment around, how he could compose, wonderful music. The highlight, was the concert, in the new concert hall, over looking, a lake & his garden shed. Sacha the pianist, played to perfection & to the audience . A very memorable day.

Booked tour through Bergen tourist that nicked transport bus, house tour and lunch concert. On the way to/from saw the suburban view of Bergen and received a city tour. Gregg's home and setting on a lake are lovely Concert was very enjoyable and was set in a concert hall that overlooked Grieg's cabin and lake. Bergen us a beautiful city but has a lot of tourist venues I.e shopping. It you have an entire dat, visit Greig's home and you won't be disappointed.

Booked the tour to Troldhaugen at the Tourist information centre and enjoyed it beyond all my expectations. The guide who took us from the Tourist information centre to Troldhaugen provided us with insightful commentary on Edvard Grieg on the way to the villa. The villa in its own right is ok but it situated in a lovely location. However, the highlight here has to be the lunchtime concert. The venue is magical and the music exhilarating. The solo pianist played some of the well known tunes composed by the maestro and her playing the Wedding Day at Troldhaugen will be one of my enduring memories of my trip to Bergen.

This stop was a part of our recent Celebrity cruise through the Norwegian fjords. While we are not well versed in classical music, we had heard of Grieg and wanted to see his home and museum. Our bus parked and we walked a good distance up to the homestead. Good spots for photos, but no pictures are allowed within the house itself. We descended a long string of steps to Grieg's studio (built by a body of water) where he composed his music. A small museum gives additional insight into the life of Grieg. We were able to enjoy a live concert of his music in the modern, comfortable concert hall on the grounds.
