Owner description: "WHO WE ARE AND WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE..." AN EXPERIENCE THAT GUARANTEES A DESIRE TO LEARN! Male penguins sometimes adopt eggs and become the world's best "mothers", some turtles can breathe through their backsides, the plastic we throw away every year creates a sheet in the ocean as big as some countries, and spiders use hydraulics to move: after a visit to the aquarium, you'll definitely know something you didn't beforehand. And you'll know it with your entire body - not just your head. At Bergen Aquarium, children and adults alike can see, touch, read about and follow the animals and aquarium keepers at close range. You can watch shows and feedings, and see how fish and animals act when in their element. Bergen Aquarium has been a must-see institution for visitors and residents alike since 1960. It's situated a short way from the centre of Bergen, in a fantastic parkside location with a view out over the seaward approach to Bergen from all sides. There's good food, too: Biologen Akvariet is a brasserie offering proper food made with proper ingredients. It'll give you energy for the whole visit, and then some.

“Skip it if you don't have kids”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

My husband was set on the aquarium because his friend that lived in Bergen recommended it. We had fun, but this is mainly for kids. There was a very friendly sea lion, and another one that had a shifty eye. It made our day.

We just walk from our hotel. From the Bryggen is about 20-30 minutes walk depending if you get a little lost. But I guess is part of the experience.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

Ok for a basic aquarium.
Was quite surprised at the cost though, even with a bergen card.
Highlight was the seal show - if you missed this there isnt much else.
Its ok couple of hours, but not a huge amount to see.

“One for the kids”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Not quite what we were expecting. Its rather small, and while its clear they having been putting the effort in to improve some of the enclosures there isn't a lot to see. What you can see is often up close however, but once you head down into the aquarium proper is very crowded.

I'm guessing that its more for kids than adults.

“Exciting show”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Aquarium itself is smaller than in other big cities, but you can enjoy an exciting shows of "locals" -sea lions, seals, watch feeding of penguins. We really liked it. Check on internet time of shows before coming as without shows the attraction would be less impressive.

Akvariumas nėra labai didelis, tačiau jūros liūtų, ruonių šou, pingvinų maitinimas tikrai patiko. Prieš apsilankant, pasižiūrėkit internete, kada vyksta šou, nes be šito visa atrakcija nebūtų tokia patraukli.
