“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

Nice hotel, with a very convenient location for the Quayside if not the main shopping district. Comfortable rooms although the bed feels a little on the small side. Breakfast is Norwegian / Spartan, but the internet is free. Enjoyed the stay.

You really couldn't ask for a better location in Bergen. The hotel is right at the Bergen Unesco World Heritage site. You can walk to everything from the hotel. The Flybuss from the airport, drops you right at the hotel.

The rooms are a good size. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms are updated. There was a coffee maker and a tea kettle in my room.

The breakfast buffet was included in my room rate and it was gigantic. It was a continental breakfast that covered all of the different types of foods each European culture eats for breakfast. Even the pickiest eater would eat well.

The hotel allowed us to check in early and check out very late (4 pm). Even if it is the low season, hotels lately haven't been that accomodating. It was nice to not have to pack everything up in the morning and store the bag for the day.

Everything about the hotel is great, except for if you are in the back row of rooms on the second floor. This is right above their banquet room where they host events. I was staying in room 260 something. When I got back to my room around 11:30 pm on Saturday night, I noticed there was a big celebration going on, and when I got up to my room, I could hear and feel the music still. I called down to the front desk to ask when the party would end and they said not until 1:30 am. They immediately offered to move my room without having to ask. I ended up on the 5th floor and got a good nights sleep. They did a great job fixing what could have been a bad experience for me and a poor review, but if you are traveling during the high summer season, I'm afraid they might not have this option, so request to have a room on a higher floor just in case!

Room Tip: Ask for a room above level 2 and in the front of the hotel to avoid the Saturday night loud music if...

Stayed for 1 night. Room was comfortable, tastefully decorated and not too small. Bed a bit on the soft side. Location is good, rooms may not have much of a view, but downtown is just minutes away. My room faced west and was very quiet. Airport bus terminates conveniently outside the hotel. Receptionist could be friendlier, but was efficient.Breakfast selection is quite good, and tasty by Norwegian hotel standards.

Just had a 4 night stay in Bergen with my wife, the City is very nice, the Hotel made a big difference. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Rooms very clean with good facilities, internet fast and FREE (nice citrus smelling complimentary toiletries) Breakfast was very good with excelent choice. The Hotel Bar was well apointed with a good choice of drinks (not cheap of course this is Norway) There is a Thai Restauraunt just across the harbour, next to the fish market "The WOK", not in Trip Advisor, but absolutely incredible (In this place you ARE in Thailand for food.) Take a tripm on the train to the top of the mountain inthe centre of town. Breath taking views. Yiu are right next door to the Historical Bryggen.

Room Tip: have stayued on both 2nd and 4th Floors both ok. Business class rooms have fancy coffee machine. Roo...

The location of this hotel is great being right next to the heritage listed area of Bryggen and in walking distance to many tourist attractions. The rooms are very big with comfortable beds and a great bathroom. The breakfast is also excellent. Overall a good hotel.

Lovely, quiet, spotless room. Stayed for 2 nights, will stay again. Dark hallways, though, does feel a bit unsafe at night. Nice view outside the hotel, at Bryggen. But where on earth is the tea in the breakfast room?

Location of the hotel just to the side of the Bergen UNESCO protected wooden houses is a hit. Major attractions including fish market, funicular, shopping center with food fresh market, plazas are within walking distance. Hotel is modern, rooms are confortable and well kept; with a good restaurant and bar.
