There is little to criticise about the Clarion Admiral. It is perfectly located to explore Bergen, opposite the famous Bryggen area and right by the ferry terminal. On the quayside is the amazing Fishmarket [qv] and a plethora of other eateries. The main shopping area and bus stops are also close by.
We opted for a corner (double aspect) room with a view over the harbour. Very comfortable and with great views.
Buffet breakfast was ok, as much as these things are, and the only black mark was their total inability to prepare any form of decent breakfast on the day we were leaving to catch the first ferry of the day. Given the hotel is perfectly located for the ferry it is more than logical that some guests may want to catch it. Presenting us with some bread and cheese plus tea or coffee - when we had paid for a full breakfast - was to say the least pretty poor customer service. When we complained they just didn’t get it - no comprehension of the problem. Just poor. It lets the hotel down.
