We stayed here for 2 nights in a room on level 2 overlooking the water and looking across at the historic Hanseatic area.
The room was clean and modern with s walk out balcony shared with the room next door. The room has a chair, table, desk with chair and small cupboard for clothes to hang. It is a bit tight on space for 2 people with luggage but you can manage. The bathroom is large with a large separate 'rain' shower. There is no bath mat or shampoo so the floor does get quite wet. Being heated it dries very quickly.
Breakfast was the usual European spread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, sausages, breads, cereal and a good selection of fresh fruit. It is crowded and on both mornings shared tables with other guests- not a problem.
The hotel has a nice bar and there is plenty of seating throughout reception and bar area.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Our stay at the Clarion Hotel Admiral was wonderful. In addition to a great location, our room had a perfect view of the city. The guest services staff was very helpful in every way. They provided restaurant recommendations, reserved a taxi and even let us borrow an umbrella. When we had a minor problem in our room, it was attended to immediately. The breakfast was also plentiful with many selections. There was always, tea, coffee and water in the lobby for guests. The hotel had a nice homey feel which was great when we needed to get in from the Bergen rain.

This was a two day stopover in Bergen and the hotel did its job without being outstanding. Cannot fault the location and efficiency of the staff. Bedroom was way too small although the bathroom was good. Breakfast buffet was good but very crowded both days. Fair play to the staff who coped very well indeed. If you're looking for a functional stay this is your place.

make sure you get a room facing the harbour.. beautiful views, especially at night! location is perfect. the hotel was pretty packed when we stayed here and there were some big groups. that being said the breakfast room was even more than packed. but the food was pretty good and they had a big selection.
my absolute favorite: check out their dinner restaurant! it's the best meal i've had on my trip!
also: free coffee and tea all day in the lobby with beautiful and trendy furniture.. couldnt stop taking pictures in there. would definitely stay again

No one seemed to be in charge. We got a deluxe room but it had twisting stairs to the main level from the entry door. I have a bad back and had to drag my bags up the stairs. On leaving we called front desk for a bell hop and they said they had no such service. Some lights in room did not work. Slanting ceilings meant a banged head when you got out of bed. Heated floors in bathroom were a plus. Dinner waiter was very nice. Dinner was very good. Breakfast was just fair. Eggs were tasteless. No bacon. Breads were good. Coffee was fair. Dinner suggestions led us to a place that was totally full; hotel staff didn't suggest reservations were necessary. Needed someone in charge to tighten things up.
