Dining here was one of the most unique experiences in my life. You take a boat to an uninhabited island they only had this restaurant. They dive to catch the fish, there is a tank right on property and the food is delicious! The atmosphere is great, right on the water and the staff is very enthusiastic. Truly a wonderful experience!

This is on a private island so you need to arrange transportation there and back. It is lovely with floor to ceiling glass so the views of the area are amazing. We had a group lunch which was excellent. Service did take longer than we planned but the food was excellent. Staff are very friendly and want you to have a good time. Cool restrooms.

On the island Holmen you'll find an exclusive fish restaurant that serves innovative fish dishes as well as a variety of seashell food. Nice och attentive service and a beatiful view from the table across the sea. But bring your gold creditcard.

We read the glowing reviews and went to Cornelius. One takes a boat from Bergen to a small island (about half an hour). We had the five course tasting menu, without wine. With three glasses of wine and coffee the bill came to about $320. There were two starters, a crab dish ( no extra charge for the small piece of shell in the crab) and shark sashimi. They were ok but not particularly special. The two mains were both a bland white fish. The first was "ling" and it was quite nice in an onion based preparation. The second was a mealy hake with a chorizo based topping. Whoever chose the menu had little concept of variety. A plum and cake desert finished the meal. It was good but, again, not exceptional. Coffee was extra. When the bill came, we learned that the ferry ride was an additional charge of about $80 for two people. It was included in our $320 bill. The meal lasted about four hours and since the room was quite warm, we struggled to stay awake between courses. The wait staff was courteous and friendly.
We had much better meals in Oslo for far less money. The "romance" at Cornelius is hard to find when the food isn't exceptional.
