I arrived after 9pm on the first of three nights and received a kind welcome. This was bookended when I checked out by a staff member making me a coffee while I waited for the cab they'd organised. The room was compact but cosy and well-designed with a pull-down desk below the tv (the upright panel was illustrated with Bergen info), a lounge chair and small table fitted in as well as the desk seat, fridge, safe, shelving, electric jug and two areas to hang clothes. The tv was casting-capable. Soft bed and pillows. I enjoyed the neat balcony with its views looking towards the harbour in one direction and towards Floyen in the other. The shower tended to run hot-cold-hot, I wondered if this was a Nordic thing....but didn't encounter it anywhere else....disconcerting especially when washing hair. There was no bath mat, soap was the only toiletry provided and towels were small and thin (but did the job). The included breakfast was good (except the scrambled egg had little taste). The hotel has its own bar and restaurant and is close to the harbour, fishmarket, Bryggen, shops and eateries. The funicular to Floyen is a very short walk. To the railway station it's around 10 minutes. I was a bit concerned that the luggage storage area was among the tables in the bar, but it didn't cause any problems. Overall a good experience.
