Beautiful surroundings, and from the ruins of King Sverre's Castle you have a wonderful view over the city and the fjord. The museum's church, Lo kirke, is a great place for a wedding. Small, romantic, and friendly... And the sun came out and made it a wonderful occation!

“Summer Solstice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

A gorgeous day to visit- summer solstice! The atmosphere was humming with lots of people. W toured around the museum looking at the folk homes and areas, set out like a wee township. A quaint look at olden day life. A great opportunity to walk up the hill side where the kings castle and what remains there are. A great view of the city from up top too.

“Rare Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

Beautiful property accessible on Hop on/Hop Off bus. Three of us had a beautiful day to walk and were greeted with delightful guides near various points. The rare opportunity to visit a stave church and hear Nicolet sing a couple of Norwegian hymns was a highlight. Our interior views of early farm houses were enhanced by the young man who really enjoined relaying information about those houses and the people who had lived in them.
