I was joining meeting held in Nidelv last week. Hotel is mainly used for these meetings and circumstances are good for this kind of happenings. Hotel is also located next to or “above sea” in the middle of city of Trondheim. Rooms were just normal hotel rooms that you use to see in Nordics – nothing more. Beds were soft and nice. Bathroom was small but I fitted in there. Free WiFi was available during stay. Check in and out - no problem. Hotel is priced of its breakfast and that is something to expire. There is fresh fish and multiple choices of cheeses available. Need to say that I haven´t seen this kid of breakfast around except hotels that are much higher price. I attach some pictures of their breakfast, but this in not able to describe by my photos.

Quite a lot has been written about the breakfast at Rica Nidelven -- and everything is true. What a pleasant experience. The service is first class and yet personal, and the food is just great. Want a nice dinner? No need to go further than the hotel restaurant, which serves really nice local food with a great choice of wines. Rooms are not too spacious, but functional, clean and nice. Electricity outlets are in the right places, and the Wifi works well, so gadget geeks will feel welcome. Altogether one of the best business hotels in Norway, by far.

The breakfast buffet is truly stupendous, with a dedicated smoothie maker, a cheese counter and the most effete barrista you ever saw. And as many different ways of cooking an egg and poaching a salmon you can imagine. If you're into your breakfasts it's worth staying here on this count alone. But annoying glitches too, the key cards hardly function - and not at all in the lifts - I had to return to the desk three times to get mine sorted. In the rooms there's nowhere to plug in your phone or computer without pulling out the vast TV console or dragging the bed across the floor. The machines in the gym are dire and if you're here for a conference beware of the chronic undersupply of washrooms.

But all is forgiven for the breakfast

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the river.

It is always a pleasure to stay at Rica Nidelven. The rooms are nice, especially the ones facing the river (ask for one when making the reservation). It is a bit of a distance to walk from the reception to the newest building at the back.

The breakfast is, as everyone says, the best of the best. Lots of local food, chefs making omelette, juices, latte etc as you wish. The only problem is that the breakfast area sometimes can get a bit crowded, as all guests are eager to taste everything. ;-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river. If you get a room in the newest part of the hotel, specify that you...

Breakfast is surreal. I never had this rich breakfast buffet like here. Simply out of this world.
Rooms are nice. The beds are very comfortable. Clean hotel. The personnel is excellent. The restaurant is also superb. Location is central. You feel home here.

Try to stay in the first building. The building in the back has some smell which is unbearable.
The rooms have small windows. Try go get a room with a larger window. Unfortunately there are not too many of these rooms.

I enjoyed my stay here.

The location is excellent as the hotel is very close to the station and centre, the rooms are well equipped, comfortable and clean, the public areas are modern looking with great art work and have a great ambience, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the huge breakfast is fabulous. Why stay anywhere else?

Central location, near Nidelven in Trondheim, Norway. The room was delicate, clean and with a nice bathroom.
A lot of white, large pillows in the bed, made a luxury feeling when watching TV in bed...
The hotel has won several awards for it`s fantastic breakfast. You understand why, when you eat breakfast here... A lot of fresh friuts, smoothies, fresh juice, meat, different cheeses, eggs of different varieties, home made bread, international coffea. Make sure you are hungry when you arrive breakfast, because this is really, really good!
The hotel is relative high priced, and there are other hotels in the town that`s more affordable. But if you want to stay in a popular nice hotel, this is a good choise.
