The owner of Bakgården, Nasif, loves his work and is passionate about food. And this you can tell. He walks around and talks to the guests, and makes sure that everyone has all that they need. They have great skills when it comes to wine, and will recommend if you ask!

They serve great Tapas, tasty, and a large variety of choices to pick from.
All the food has a history and it's pretty much from around the Trondheim area.
A great place to go with good friends – then you can order different thing from the menu, and share. Everything comes on small plates, so it's easy to pass around. It's not like other restaurants where you only can sit for a limited time, because they want you out to get a new round of guest, you can stay there and enjoy the food, drinks and dessert!

Like Sabor which i also went to, this place , though it did have a spanish speaker on the staff, and they were rather more involved and professional, lacks that something which makes you feel you've had an authentic spanish experience. Nice though unexciting decor.A these prices you expect linen not paper on the table. Food better than Sabor but Norwegian rather than Spanish. one dish almost burnt. Not great value. helpings almost too large as I was stuffed after 3 tapas whichmeant not a lot of variety. Would be prepared (only just) to give it a second chance
next Aquanor.
Oddly 2 groups came in , sat down then left after finding out they could not get pizza( a lunch only option) Is this a Norwegian thing?

I live in Trondheim, and I found this restaurant to be just average. We went for the lunch tapas after reading all the great reviews. We were disappointed. Everything was salty and nothing seemed as if it was cooked that day. Since we were the first customers of the day, perhaps it was heated from yesterday's leftovers? It wasn't that good.

Yes, they also advertise pizza, with some unusual toppings (reindeer is imaginable, but nachos?), but the tapas are superb. Visiting Trondheim for two nights, in warm weather, we stumbled into this restaurant on the first and went back on the second, eating both times in the atmospheric courtyard. Service was friendly and attentive, including an English menu and descriptions of each dish. Among the standouts were peppered tuna with horseradish (not a classic tapa, as far as I know), salt-baked potatos, and the more traditional shrimp with garlic. Also great marinated olives (the only time I've ever had an olive stuffed with a cornichon, surprisingly good), and nice house wines. Good value for money, too.
