Just as most others say; very helpful and friendly staff, quiet location in a very good position (airport busses drop off outside), large clean room (with no squeaky bed or doors!) with good size TV, comfortable chairs and tea/coffee making facilities, food very good for a hotel and plenty of it (only ate out one evening as the spread provided (hot and cold) was of a good standard and made eating in Norway affordable), free wifi, free dvd's, free clear maps of Trondheim area and we really appreciated the all-day provision of free (good) coffee and the afternoon waffle machine! In response to an earlier reviewer, research your destination before you go then there will be no real surprises. This was our first visit to Norway and we loved it! We knew it wouldn't be cheap so we planned our holiday accordingly. Everyone we met was so helpful and kind. Trondheim is a great place (we recommend visiting during the annual Olavsfestdagene, great markets, music and events) with a variety of things to do and see (shopping, exploring, museums, trying Norwegian beers!) and we had some lovely walks along the coast and up at Lian. We wish to explore more of Norway but would also happily return to Trondheim and this hotel.

The hotel is located very conveniently within short walking distance to the harbour and the main attractions as the Nidaros Cathedral and Bakklandet and the shopping streets. It is a boutique hotel with a 10+ shops in the same building, mostly with fashion clothes but otherwise the building is fairly empty.

The room was not very big and had a queen-size bed, a television and a few chairs. The bathroom was fully covered in marble with a tub and in-tub showerhead, but looked fairly nice although quite dated (the shiny gloss being worn off the showerhead etc.). The entrance to the bathroom was a squeaky sliding-door and a few items was about to fall apart.

Breakfast is quite decent for this type of hotel with a few hot trays with sausauges, eggstew and potatoes, as well as the common continental things. The negative side is that the breakfast area is small and when we came to eat, there was no table available.

The hotel has a few very nice things like free waffle-machine after 3pm, included light dinner 6pm-9pm (although this is a one-choice only dinner served from trays).

We came with a baby and had a fairly good stay. The most positive was the location, the service (which is excellent with everybody smiling) and the freebies included like breakfast, dinner and free wifi. The value is also extremely good if you get a good offer. The most negative being annoying things like that the bed was extremely squeaky (quite negative when you have a baby that keeps waking up every time you turn), and that also the bathroom door was also extremely squeaky.

Oh, one more thing that the hotel should really fix; the elevator doors closes so quickly, that if you come with four suitcases, a baby trolley and a baby, you risk being chopped off by the elevator door all the time while trying to get things in or out, or alternatively lose your baggage or your baby as you try to frenetically take everything out of the elevator.

Ive chosen to give this hotel 3/5 (average), since on an international level it is not more than average. On a Norwegian scale it is very good (4/5) though, as most Norwegian hotels are not up to international standards.

I've stayed at this hotel 2-3 times, both with my family and during business trips.
The rooms as spacious, and the location is actually pretty good. Close to the city center, but in a quiet district. Walking distance to both the railway station and the city center.
They serve a free light meal (buffet) in the afternoon.
Free DVDs in the reception.
