As soon as I walked in, I smelled burger and fries. The place is very American in it's decor and food options. We just had the house beers which were ok, but I'm accustomed to more challenging craft beers. My friend from Trondheim drinks even more complex beer than myself, but he appreciates the simplicity and balance of the beers. You can get a sampler of all of their beers. I was given tastes and settled on the amber. It was fine. The service was efficient and friendly. This would be a great place for a large group.

Great beer, especially the IPA (Indian Pale Ale) and Stout. The barkeepers used to be friendlier, though.

A really nice place to drink some beer, especially the 8 types trial. It cost NOR 140 for 100ml of 8 kind of beer, including two seasonal ones.

A little hard to find. I sat at the bar and had the most expensive burger and a beer I've ever had. That doesn't say anything about the Trondheim Microbryggeri, it's just that Norway is an incredibly expensive place and this happened to be my first night in the country, so a bit of a sticker shock.

The food itself was good, and the beer was good but nothing particualrly special. The selection is small and the range of styles nothing out of the ordinary, especially for a country that can produce a Nøgne Ø. To make it worse, they were out of the stout when I visited, narrowing the options even more. The main problem was that the service was very slow and erratic; the bartender was serving a large number of tables as well.

If you thought Norway didn't produce great beer, think again. This is a terrific brew pub, spacious with an island bar and lots of seating. Excellent staff are eager to explain what is on offer - try the sample tray with around six different beers. The food isn't bad either - my bacalao (spicy cod and potato stew) was just the thing to complement the beer.
