We enjoyed our dinner in the Bryggen Asian Cooking Restaurant very much and recommend it to anybody who visits Trondheim. It was the best restaurant we've been to in Trondheim!
I recommend to make a reservation in advance.

+ very delicious meals
+ friendly and professional waiters
+ no long waiting for the dishes
+ beautiful location, nice facility

- quite expensive
- the portions are rather small

Bryggen Asian Cooking offers a wide menu, excellent staff and good atmosphere. The menu covers several asian dishes ranging from peking duck to tandoori, with a main focus on seafood and sushi. Sushi is above par compared to other restaurants in the Trondheim area, and worth a visit for that reason alone. Other items on the menu seems to vary, from excellent dim sum to at best mediocre tempura. Prices feel a bit too high for the somewhat traditional asian dishes - but feels more justified when it comes to sushi and sashimi. Would visit again for the seafood, but better deals can be made elsewhere if sushi is not your choice for the evening.

Not my favourite sushi place, but good quality. It will not disappoint you, but not spectacular either. You get what you pay for.

Asian style service means sharing several dishes together. I ordered the green curry. Looked beautiful, from what I could see in this dark restaurant, but there was way too much of one thing... bland. Absolutely zero heat. I was bored of it very quickly. The wine was 385 NOK a bottle (tuscan red) with a screw top. It arrived already opened by the waitress. NEVER seen this before. Tasted horrible... but what can you do? The chairs were very low, so this added to the difficulty of enjoying the meal. It was hard to figure out how to eat the curry really was more like a soup -- but the strange spoon provided was the size of a serving spoon. Would I go back again. Unfortunately, yes, it is probably one of the better restaurants in town to take business guests.

This riverside restaurant near the old wooden bridge serves superb, flavour-filled dishes with influences from many Asian countries in ways that are unique in our experience. It also provides very good sushi and you can order sake too. We tried one dish based on sushi that was a wow for an entree, and another that we thought was conger eel (we misinterpreted the Norwegian!) but turned out to be a very, very large prawn (or a small crayfish?) with a scrumptious salad of many oriental vegetables and fruits, including mango and lime. For mains, we had a mildly curried dish of mixed seafood with an irresistible sauce and a dish that was described as sweet chili chicken but was far, far better than the name suggests. It's quite dark inside but elegantly laid out. The service was friendly and very good. The house white wine was a dry German Riesling that went very well with all of the food. The prices are quite high but not as high as the top layer of Norwegian restaurants and, by Norwegian standards, we though this excellent value. If you like Asian food of any cuisine, you are unlikely to be disappointed.
