At this place they know how to make good coffee :) The best, or one of the best places in town, and a relaxed place to have a break. A nice place to hang out with friends or just to sit down and read the newspaper and enjoy the townsquare.

Try the Caribbean coffee, the bagel with cream cheese and vegetables. And if they have, the lemon and poppy seed cupcake. (They bake all their cupcakes fresh each morning)

Perfect place to chill out! International guests and very friendly atmosphere. You are invited to share the sofas, which implies opportunity to get to know new people. The place is so popular though, almost always full during weekends and holidays. You have to be lucky to find free chairs!

The ONLY thing that was unfortunate about this place was how long we had to wait in line... which was just more proof of how delicious this coffee was. Laura's is the only place I can honestly say I got a decent latte in Kristiansand, or South of Oslo. The service once I ordered was very fast and the coffee was delicious. The coffeehouse has comfortable seating inside and out, and plenty of literature in English to keep you busy while you drink up.

I've been to Laura's many times, and admit I like the place very much. It is one of the few cafes in town period, and especially one that allows you just to relax on a cup of good coffee or tea while watching the town life outside go by. It is nicely decorated with a combination of pastel colors and wood furniture, which give it a cozy feeling and relaxing atmosphere.
A few things make this place just "very good" and not excellent. First, actual selection of food is limited and constrained according to the time of day. This becomes worst in early evenings when nothing is left of the very little that was on offer earlier. So, the problem is with quantity and avaiability rather than quality. Second, it has strange working hours - for most working days the place closes when people leave home from work, instead of being open and allowing them to use the opportunity to relax with a warm drink after a day of work or an evening training at the gym. Third, due to its popularity, the place can become crowded, and the single person usually behind the cashier may take some time to serve all eager customers.
Having said that, it is pleasant, it is central, the service is kind, and the drinks are of good quality.
