Hard to get a reaction from staff when arriving - reception unmanned. When asking for a wake-up call, I was told it was to be done by programming the TV-set. Nope, TV told me that that function was "unavailable at this time, try again later", just as some of the TV-channels.
The hotel information package mentioned a phone, but that had probably been taken by the last guest. WIFI was unavailable, and the room boiling hot - no wonder, radiator was set at 30 C!
The next day I tried to get the problem solved by contacting the staff - only to discover that they were not proficient in neither English nor Norwegian. They did not understand the difference between not being able to program the TV for a wake up call and turning it on. With a smile I was told that since nobody else had complained, the problem was me and not that the hotel couldn't fix the TV-set, the missing phone or the WiFi.
I'm not particularly amused by this. The hotel is far too expensive to warrant this kind of behaviour and faulty equipment.More
