Description: Jaipur is located in the middle of Karl Johans gate, on the first floor (above Burger King) with great views of Egertorget square. Walking through the door, you step into India with its paintings, lamps, dark furniture and delicate white tablecloths. The menu is, of course, Indian with traditional tandoori and curry dishes and a great selection for vegetarians. With such a central location, this is the perfect spot for a meal after work, before the cinema or for an evening out on the town.

We had dinner here on a sunday evening. Cozy restaurant, and good service. They offer a 3 course dinner for 299,- NOK, and you can choose each course from the menu.

We visited this restaurant in 9th June 2013 on our Scandinavia Tour. The location was central, the food was excellent, specially Indian food like Dal Makhani, Shahi Paneer, curd , and naan and mango-vanilla ice cream were very good. A highly recommended Indian Restaurant for all Indian groups visiting Oslo.

I've been to india a few times and deicded to try this famous named restaurant - they had a 3 course special for 299 Krone - when I got to the mains (Chicken Tikka) I couldn't even finish it so I enjoyed the restaurant hussle and bussle but decided to leave in the end and take it with me! Lovely staff and service would defintely go back. One tip, I'd recommend going for the special and share it between 2 people as it's enough.

It was not a planned visit. 1st May was a holiday in Oslo, which meant that all shops were closed. After I returned from office (was on a business trip), didn't have much to do and was moving around the city, which seemed to be in a holiday mood.
Crossed the place on my way to the Palace - I could smell the place before seeing it. If you are into Indian cuisine, it's very apparent.
Nice location, good food. It's a typical North Indian food. The owners are from Punjab, a state in India known for it's hospitality and rich food. I can't compare with other places in Oslo, but the food was reasonably good. Most of the main courses were accompanied with a plate of rice, which was welcome and I haven't seen this anywhere. The portions were good and enough for a normal person. If you don't like it very spicy, you can mention it when you order.
It was full, maybe something to do with the day being a holiday. However, most of them seemed to be returning customers.
