“Worth the money spent”
Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

This is an old established restaurant in Oslo were a lot of people go to see and be seen. It costs quite a bit to dine here but in my opinion it's worth the dimes you spend. Service is good, many of the waiters/waitresses has been there for years and does not have this only as a hobby (as it can seem like in many other places). It can be rather crowded for lunch in the weekends before christmas so if you are a larger group book in advance (one or two month). It's not mutch room for strollers, so think about that before bringing small kids.

“Great buzzy cafe”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

The Theatercafeen is clearly a place to be seen---loved that it seemed to be mostly Norwegians or foreigners who clearly lived in Oslo. The waitress was lovely--I was alone and she attended to me as if I were a party of six. The food was great great Norwegian bistro food.

“Great atmosphere!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

I had a three course dinner at Theatercaféen and everything was cooked really well, tasted good and presented nicely. The only thing they could improve was the wine list: not the best and biggest selection but ok. The service was very good, proactive and professional.

For being in Oslo it was normally priced so I can definitely see myself return for another dinner.

“Historical restaurant in Oslo”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

We visited the restaurant for lunch. It is always a nice place to be. The chairs are hard and awful, but it is always an experience to go there. Had the duck confit for lunch. It was excellent.
