Have had dinner at Brasserie France on several occasions. The restaurant has a very nice location close to Kar Johans gate in Oslo. The atmosphere is very friendly, and so are the waiters that work there. Brasserie France offer both a menu of the day and a ala carte meny with a French touch.
The food is very good, their "dessert trolley" is a must-have! Prices are of course a bit high, which is typical for Oslo. Reservations are recommended here, especially in the evening. Can absolutely recommend Brasserie France!

The food is almost a cliché, the interior like a brasserie in Paris. You will get a decent meal, we had the 3 corse lunch; asparagus, confit of duck wings (yes - wings) and a light dessert. It was ok but not a great experience. The rosé wine nice and fresh, a good deal by Norwegian terms. All in all average and not worth a detour.

Truely like Paris but in Oslo! Good food, humorous waiters and a fantastic dessert buffet. Prices like most restaurants in Oslo - quite high.

The staff were very attentive and smartly dressed. There is a wide menu of mainly French dishes (no surprises there) and I had perfectly cooked and presented halibut for my main course. The piece de resistance, though, is the dessert trolley where you get to choose a selection of tempting desserts. Pudding heaven!

This is a rather norwegian approach to the brasserie concept, and not for the better.
The restaurant is located at the heart of the city, near Karl Johans street, and the first impression is good, but from the moment the waitress arrives, you understand that this is not a french restaurant. The service was average norwegian, and there is a reason why most of the waiters in Norway are foreigners, norwegians are unfortunately not service-minded! She was at least efficient.
What I found mostly unacceptable, especially in such a big restaurant, is the fact that groups are forced to take a menu, which leaves always somebody eating something which they really didn't want to have at all. We were only 11 people! This is unfortunately very usual in most restaurants in Oslo, and I only can explain it with one word: Lazyness!!
Otherwise, food was good, but not exceptional. House red wine was drinkable, but not more.
I thought it was pricey, 3-course meal 530 norwegian crowns, which adding coffe, wine (70 crowns per glass) and gratuity left my wallet 850 crowns lighter.
All in all, an OK restaurant, not more than that. I was considering coming here someday with my wife, but now I'm not quite sure if I'll bother.
