I had the chivo guisado (goat curry) with a side of plantains and cassava. The meat was tender and tasty in a mild but spicy sauce, served with rice and beans. The fried cassava was fresh and delicious, excellent for dipping in the sauce. The plantains were crisp and warm, but a tad too salty. The servings were incredibly generous, I had to take almost half of the food home in a doggy bag. Very good value for money.
The waitress was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We didn't have dessert, but the black coffee was both good and on the house.
Caribe is not very centrally located, but well worth a visit. Easily accessible by bus no 31 and tram no 17.
