We popped in here while waiting to get a mini-cruise round the fjord. It's an interesting enough place to stop off but the day we were here they were closing at two to re-open at 8pm for the opening of a new exhibition about food around the world, which wasn't visible at the time, so there wasn't all that much for us to see.

The technology of some of the exhibits was really interesting to see but the content didn't captivate me as much as it maybe could have.

The front desk guy was hilarious and friendly - and gave us a big discount on entry as we could only see half of it and only had about an hour to look. To be honest, 40 minutes was about all it took for us to wander around, but I imagine that would be different if we'd been able to get into the new exhibition.

There was a school party in when we were there too so it was a little noisier than you'd expect in a musuem (though they were very well behaved, I should add!)

Probably worth visiting if there's an exhibition on that you really want to see, not sure it's worth the entrance fee just for the permanent exhibitions.

The Nobel Peace Prize Center is very interesting and can be visited in an hour or two. The history of the Nobel prizes (all the others are awarded in Stockholm) is also presented.

I would expect this museum to answer the immediate question of why this place is in Oslo and not Sweden, to cover why the prize exists and how the selection process works and then to document and honour the achievements of its laureates. I don't think it excels in any of these aspects.

There was a good photography exhibition when I visited on the ground floor, on the next floor there's the laureates artwork (strange forest of lit sticks) which attempts to be informative but miserably fails. The room with the electronic book gizmo giving some history is small and very single user. The computer terminal where you can allegedly give feedback will just waste your time if you attempt to use it.

If you've got some spare time to kill and an Oslo pass to make this a zero cost experience worth a quick look but otherwise avoid. It's very near the harbour so you can pop-in if you are early for a Ferry / boat tour.

The interactive book on Alfred Nobel was informative and unique. The exhibit on the laureates was not working. A second interactive exhibit to view laureates' speeches and news was also not working. Our admission was included in our Oslo Pass or I would have asked for a refund.

A small museum, with photos and info on the Nobel Peace Prize winners. Easy to check out with the Oslo Pass, but probably not worth it otherwise.
