Description: Experience a different culinary adventure in the heart of Oslo at Den Glade Gris (The Happy Pig)! We are dedicated to delivering a unique dining experience, focusing on delicious dishes made from pork. Our signature dish is the succulent, long-cooked pig knuckle, prepared with passion using the slow-cooking method. We take our time to marinate and slow-cook the food for several days, resulting in plenty of flavour and tender meat. Our kitchen proudly presents honest and rustic Norwegian cuisine, served with a touch of charm. We offer a wide selection of beers, collaborating with breweries across the country to ensure an impressive variety. The service is intended to be excellent but not extravagant, presented with a cheerful demeanor and a twinkle in the eye. Welcome to a taste experience you won't soon forget!

This was one of our favorite restaurants in Oslo! We were there on a Saturday night, so a bit busy, we dined outside and it was perfect. All 3 couples had the Pork Knuckle to share as we had read about it prior - it does not disappoint, cooked perfectly. Evan took great care of us and was such a gracious host. We were in Oslo for a Memorial of my Father-in-Law who was born there, so we toasted with a glass of Akvavit - they have a really nice selection, one that we really liked and searched for the rest of our trip and sadly couldn't find.....

Absolutely a lovely place! This restaurant was one block from our hotel and one look at the menu we knew we had to stop in. The decor is so nice and comfortable. It reminded us of home! You can have traditional food or a few modern options. Whichever you chose, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. The Pig’s Knuckle is the best option. Take a leap of faith and try this unique dish. Its amazing taste will remind you of Pulled Pork. Good, hearty fare for pairing with the Norwegian beers. Or, you can always order homemade Mojito. The staff is incredible. The food is expensive as expected in Norway.

So far so good, waiting on the main coarse right now.... ( 10 minutes later) Wow that was amazing the pork crispy and tender to perfection. Simon told me I could only leave two bones on the plate. I think I did what he said.

My wife could only finish half of her pull pork sandwich... I guess I got a midnight snack ;)

We just ate at this restaurant tonight to celebrate my husbands birthday. The food was delicious and not so expensive. Must try their signature dish....delicious and big portion. But the tiny downside was sauce, could have had an extra sauce but overall experience was very good. Thumbs up👍👍
