Me and my friends stayed at this hotel for two nights and were eaten alive by bed bugs. The cleaning staff should have noticed them before they let us sleep there. They were clear as day crawling on the bed. Disgusting!!
Breakfast isn't good either. No selection and all the bread was stale.

We have never experienced bed bugs before - we are sorry and we take this very seriously. We have brought in an exterminator company and they are checking all the rooms. Again we are truly sorry for the experience, this should not have happened.
When it comes to breakfast, we are proud of it and get a lot of compliments. We have several types of cereal, cheese, 5 types of meat, eggs, anchovies, several types of jams, vegetables, fruit, bread, rolls, juice, milk, coffee and tea.

Best regards
Anniken Vines

Is not an expensive hotel, you have everything you need and if you are looking for a more exclusive hotel you just find a more expensive one. We liked it because we had a few days and we just decided to go to Oslo, amazing city, hub of the new life in Scandinavia. This hotel is in the real center of Oslo because you must think that moving around the city is very expensive. For us it was a very good accomodation, some times we go to the best places and others we safe some money.

The Perminalen hotel is a clean, cheap and a well located choice whilst staying in Oslo.

When arriving from OSL airport there a 2 choices of train to Oslo central station. We chose the cheaper NSB service that took 26 minutes for 90 Kroner each way. The express service runs more frequently and takes 19 minutes but is more expensive. Once you arrive at Oslo central ( on either service) transfer to the T bahn heading westbound to Stortinget station, every line passes this stop. Take the exit for Ovre Slottsgate and the hotel is 100 meters on your left.

The rooms are very basic but clean. Beds are bunk style and have linen included. Our room had a flat screen TV but that's as modern as it got! You need to pay 10 Kroner for a towel if required.
Norway is a very expensive country to visit, the room rate was 380 Kroner per person. This included a reasonable breakfast of muesli, fruit, boiled eggs, bread, meats and cheese.

Free WIFI is available in the common room downstairs. The staff are very friendly and happy to assist. We recommend Tullins Cafe ( near the Raddison hotel ) they serve up great food at reasonable prices, it was packed on a Monday with locals!

This hotel is perfect for the budget conscious traveller for a short stay in Oslo.

An hostel outside like a business hotel in the city centre, inside clean, simple, with tv. Forniture and fittings like tipycal hostel. We asked for a bright room and we had a room in the corner with two windows. Self service breakfast was ok in a big living room. Good quality for cheap accomodation in an expensive town. The weather was sunny in a white town, unluckily we didn't have sky!

...but then I would be lying.

These people had overbooked our room, which meant they shoved me, my brother and a friend of us into one of their small conference rooms for one night. One of us got so fed up he left for home at midnight, leaving most of his items at the conference room for us to pick up in the morning.

On a positive note, we were given curtains to put up over the windows, and to do this we were also given a hammer and a couple of nails. The receptionist woman said she didn't care if we ruined their walls, which I think is a positive as she cares for her guests.

The outside is nothing to write about either. Grey, dirty and at times you may think you're in some leftover communist country.

Needless to say, we slept very bad. The hotel gave us part of our money back, but far from the amount they should have done considering where we ended up.

The breakfast was bland, dry and nothing special either. Simply avoid this hotel, as you can't count of things going your way at all.

I stayed here for two nights. The location is excellent, about a 7 minute walk from the Central Train Station, so you can easily get there from the airport in about 20 mins. It's within walking distance to many major attractions, shopping centers, restaurants, and pubs.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in had four beds (two sets of bunks) and a private bathroom. It had a nice TV and a dining room table of sorts. You also had your own private closet (but no way to lock it).

A basic buffet breakfast is included. However, if you wanted to eat lunch or dinner there, (which I didn't), it looks like you would get wholesome food for low prices, which is a welcome benefit in Oslo, where a big mac combo at McDonalds costs over $15 USD. When I arrived at around lunch time the cafeteria was packed, which shows that they must be doing something right.

It has a very tidy and comfortable common room with complimentary wi-fi and a big screen TV. The couches felt like they were brand new and there were also complimentary cookies. If you're lucky, you might be able to connect to the wi-fi from your room (although my computer couldn't).

I highly recommend this hostel. If I ever go back to Oslo and need a clean, safe, and inexpensive place to stay, I'll go back to this place.
