We did the easier "River Tour," and loved every minute of it. The tour covers a nice variety of territory, and there are some very pretty views. It's not a lot of biking -- if that's what you're looking for, you might opt for one of the other tour choices instead. It worked perfectly for us as it was our first outing while in Oslo and an efficient way of being introduced to the city.
We were supposed to have a group of 5 but, as luck would have it, three people cancelled, and we were treated to a private tour with our guide, Paul. We particularly enjoyed learning from him about Norway and its culture. We've found that some tour guides share excessive information (e.g. numerous dates and historical details) as they show you various sites, and we usually end up feeling overloaded in these instances. This was not the case with Paul at all -- he shared just the right amount of detail and really gave a good flavor of what Norwegian life is like. And he did so with a great sense of humor. We were on a cruise and as such only had one day in Oslo. We will definitely return to Oslo, however, and would surely book another one of Viking Biking tours while there.
