“Not a 4 Stars!”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We stayed for 3 nights at the Bristol. Nice old hotel with character!
But it is an old hotel not what I was expecting. Not a 4 stars for sure!
Plastic glass in the toilet, no face towel like usual in Europe. A lot of staff
seemed to be on training. Difficult to find someone for handling your luggages.
The bed are too soft and the pillow too very bad sleep! Ask for a firmer bed they don't have!
Very disappointing but well situated I will never come back here for the price!

Room Tip: Room 688 was quiet and a lot of windows good for fresh air.

An old belle epoque hotel, adequately modernized, in a convenient location.

We had an interior courtyard room - no view, but perfectly quiet, and free wifi.

Breakfast can be very crowded and it can be hard to find a table.

Room Tip: For quiet choose a courtyard room

Stayed this weekend a great old traditional hotel we stayed in a club room .However the bedroom was on the front above the main entrance but the noise from the road and the local night club made it very difficult to get some sleep and on top of that there is no air conditioning and this weekend was very worm so not happy re bedrooms .The food in the hotel was good and the staff very helpful . But like a previous comment no help with the luggage did not go down to well plus the hall carpets are a little worn and patched up so for the room rates charged a little to be desired my main point the hotel needs double or even treble glazing on the front or at least worn guests of what is to expected in the night when the night club start to empty 2/3 am in the morning not good

We stayed for a long weekend over the 17 May holiday and enjoyed all the festivities Oslo had to offer. It was very nice to see how the Norwegian people celebrate their heritage and wear their regional bunads to attend events.

Yes the hotel is lovely, especially the lobby and restaurant area. When it seems most of Europe cannot build enough new hotels that try to emulate freakish modern art, this hotel has not gone that path...as of yet. The elevators are very small and if more than two people with luggage are in one, you will more than likely have to wait for the next one.

The one thing that we found disappointing was the lack of service throughout the hotel. There was no doorperson to help with getting luggage from our car to the front desk. There was no bellperson evident or offered to assist us with getting luggage to our room. The morning breakfast room, though busy, was light on staff and we had to get our own coffee.

But we found getting out of the very slippery raised bath tub was dangerous to say the least. Both of us slipped and fell. We asked the front desk for a rubber bathmat, but were told none are available. There is nothing to grab to assist when getting out of the tub, either. This is an extremely dangerous situation and if this hotel was in the USA, I am certain this hotel would be facing many lawsuits related to this dangerous situation.

Our advice to the elderly, AARP members or those that have mobility issues, you might want to think twice about your welfare before reserving this hotel....it could be hazardous to your health.

Spent a few nights here while in Europe on business. This hotel retains a quaint charm despite its size. The breakfast was excellent, something's cooked to order and of a high standard. It is not a cheap option but offers value for money and high quality.

the hotel is old but ok. I dislike rooms where you can not open the window. Also it is too many people for breakfast when the hotel is full. Friendly staff but realy poor parking if you bring your car.

This hotel has charm and I was impressed and had a good feeling from the moment I entered the reception area and the adjacent lounge area. The rooms are big with two single beds, two arm chairs and a coffee table, minibar and TV. Free internet avaible. The breakfast offer is enormous at a high quality. I stayed at the hotel from a Thursday to Friday on a business trip with some colleagues. The only down size - some of them told me - was the noise coming from the discotheque opposite the hotel. My room faced the courtyard, and my sleep was not interfered by noise from the outside.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the courtyard to avoid discotheque noise
