Close from the center of the city with the subway which is right below the hostel after the park (10 min, line 6)
Stayed in the new building, the rooms are better than some hotels I went in!
70€ for a single room, you won't find a better price in this expensive city..

We are a family of six on a budget and therefore this hostel was the cheapest in Oslo. It was a bit out of town but the public transport made up for it- the tram and bus are extremely close and the metro within walking distance. Our room was on the small side but perfectly acceptable. The staff were extremely friendly and quite helpful. It was mostly clean. The kitchen was a bit too small with too little utensils. The wifi was not available in our room and difficult to log on to. The outdoor facilities were great and the breakfast buffet okay- very Norwegian food though! Unfortunately while we were staying there a phone an iPod and some change were stolen from us. Also a punnet of strawberries was taken from our bag in the fridge

Big hostel that also has a motel attached. Caters for schools and other groups as well as individuals. Basic but comfortable room with four bunks, lockers, washbasin etc. Large washrooms along corridor - properly cleaned and serviced. TV / common rooms. Well equipped kitchen. Breakfast included in price - great value. Friendly service. Limited but nice view over the city. Out of city (about 4km away from centre) but very easy to reach using bus, tram, T-bane or train. Well recommended.

Very friendly staff, great breakfast and free parking - what more could you want. Within an easy walk to the metro station to Oslo. Affordable accommodation for Norway where even a cup of coffee costs $7!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new quarters if available

Stayed here for one night, we got a room in the new building. Clean, enough space and even possible to make coffee or tea. Bathroom was clean too. Free parking, but get al youre belongings out of the car, because they told that cars get broken open frequently. Breakfast was included in the price, linnen can be hired. Price is ok, still expensive but this is Norway. Not close to centre, but easy with tram, takes about 20 min. Price about 30 kr one way. Service was ok. Many different people come here, travellers, aswell as people who work in Oslo and sort of live there i guess.

This place is good value with a buffet breakfast included. It is not far from a metro station (when arriving, get on the metro service to Sinsen, then get off an go in the direction of Hans Nielsen Gauges Gate, turn left to cross the road at the zebra crossing, then immediate right to cross the next road, then straight over the tram lines, then turn right to walk along the footpath past the football pitches and up the hill - you will see the building on top of the hill). The staff were helpful and rooms clean. There is a kitchen you can use as well. The only thing was a couple of the nights there was some noise, either from outside or another room, but this didn't cause too much disruption.
