Owner description: One of most delightful, romantic two-wheel rides in Oslo. Lush woods, park-like countryside, view of the sea, swimming areas, historic buildings and the royal cows are some of the sights to see along the way. Arrive from Aker Brygge via the 3-km cycle route along Frognerstranda to Hengesengveien, Bygdoy. Continue to Holsts vei - Rideveien - Huk - P.T. Mallingsvei - Langviksvei - Huk Aveny - Museumsveien - Wedels vei - Dronning Biancas vei Distance: 7 km Incline: insignificant Roadway: primarily fine gravel roads

“Great for romancing!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

In summers great place to just hang around and if you've got a boat, set out into the Oslo fjord. Large parking area, great paths for bicycling and promenades for those who wish to indulge themselves in romantic evenings.

“Beautiful Scenery”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Had a little trouble finding how to take the ferry over. Look for red signs, and a small building near the water where there will be an attendant to help you. Purchasing tickets ahead of time will save you a lot of money. Then, we took the short Bygdoy ferry over. Mainly we went to see the Viking museum, and then walked along the country side back to the main part of town. This took about 30-60 minutes. We meandered over to Vigeland Park though and added another hour or two onto our trip.

The Summer royal residence was amazing and the farm area was a surprise. Great walking paths for all including those with strollers.

“Must-do day trip whilst in Oslo”
Reviewed September 12, 2012

Crammed with many interesting and well-designed museums, this peninsula is fascinating, and also a very pretty area, which feels like a rural retreat from the city. Get the Oslo card and this covers the bus to the first museum (the folk museum) and the loevly ferry ride back to the City at the end of the day (as well as the bus ride between the 2 areas of museums). Plenty of place to have lunch and drinks.
