Owner description: Actually a mausoleum, this unusually-shaped building is decorated inside with an 800 square meter fresco which took Emanuel Vigeland 20 years to paint.

Emanuel is the brother of the more famous Gustav Vigeland, the guy with the sculpure park in Oslo. Emanuel was in his shadow and worked mostly in Sweden. He made a mausoleum over himself at Slemdal in Oslo. It opens only once a week, Sundays 12.00 - 17.00 in summer. It is a crypt and a tomb and it is dark. The walls and the ceiling are covered with spectalular paintings of humans. The cling to each other, they reject each other, they interact in a lot of ways. You will not leave untouched. Guaranteed.

Vigeland is an amazing and weird artist: his artworks are unique and full of emotions
