Beginning with the indoor exhibits was interesting, seeing timelines and interiors of houses from various periods.

A superb collection of houses and other buildings has been assembled, representing different centuries and many parts of the country.

Wooden assemblages are remarkable. The craft involved in making, in the first place, and then preserving them, particularly given the winter severity, is impressive.

A beautiful stave church is a treasure. Originating around 1200 it is magnificent in its complexity.

The weather was on our side which made for pleasant and informative experience. Loads of building to explore even though some were locked. Would go back and start were we ended as the attraction was approaching 5 pm closing time so rushed the last bit.

Cool museum, one of the nicest activities I did in Oslo. The wooden church is smaller than I expected but worth to be seen from inside. Nice houses and also very nice exhbition in one of the museums about the Sami people. Definitely worth checking it out! I learned many new things. I also tried the waffles at the waffle house they were very good. I was travelling alone and still had a great time. Thanks!

Take the boat from the main harbour to get here. Its the first stop. Same boat goes onto the Kon Tiki Museum. It is interesting.
