Best Western Karl Johan Hotell

A nice, old hotel in the heart of Oslo. The staircase is a real beauty. Lots of interesting paintings on the walls. The room was small, but big enough for one nights stay. The bathroom was very neat and clean. Very good breakfast in cosy rooms. This was my second stay at the hotel and I would be happy to stay there again.

Right on Karl Johan, just 50 meters away from the Parliament. Excellent location.

Just 200m on foot to the Nationalheatret Station, where you can jump onto the Airport Express Train or the metro system.

The single rooms are very small, and not very well equipped, but it if you need a bed and a good breakfast, this is a good and reasonably priced option.

The breakfast room is a bit dark and not very nicely decorated, but the buffet is OK.

The lobby is small, and only serves as check-in and check-out point. There are no common áreas to relax in.

Summary: good for a short stay in Oslo, but it is not Home Away.

Stayed one night on a conference in Oslo. The location is great. Small, but quiet room. OK bed and ok service. Breakfast a bit simple, but satisfying. Recommended for travellers or business men who just need a place to sleep for good value with a central location.

Hotel was very nice. we liked the breakfast as well. very good service at breakfast :) hotel was very neat and clean,
but the smell in the hotel was very bad, i m very sure that the smell was because of the carpets.
we stayed in room 340, room was very clean and good, bathroom was good also but there was a very bad smell in bathroom as well.
we want to visit that hotel again but because of the bad smell in hotel maybe we choose other hotels. i m giving 5/4 points for cleaness , 1 point is minus because of bad smell.

We had a short Saturday to Sunday stay here for our Oslo weekend. Had stayed here some years ago, and chose the hotel now for the perfect location for our activities near the main street.
This is not a new hotel, but clean, stylish and cozy with a big and old fashioned staircase.
Elevator was a bit slow, but it did not matter. It gave us the opportunity to walk the grand stairs.
Our room was a bit small but big enough for two for a night.
Bathroom was also clean and OK. Hair dryer provided.
Breakfast was good but breakfast area was a bit crowded close to check-out time on sunday and it was a bit difficult to find seating.
Free WiFi included. Easy log on and good speed.
Not the cheapest hotel, but close by hotels are way more expensive. All in all good value for money if you want this location.
We will use this hotel again if the opportunity comes by.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the main street, so on a Saturday night you must expect music and noise until 4a...

Used this hotel for a number of business trips (note booking choice not mine!) as located very close to our office in Oslo.
Hotel is in a great position, right in the centre and an easy walk to see some of the beautiful sights of the city. Oslo is great but very expensive.
The hotel itself is very tired, in my room I had curtains hanging off the wall! On a positive note the hotel is clean and useable just be prepared for a very tired interior. Would not recommend as many other better hotels to chose from nearby
