“Go for the sights, not the ship”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

Just went on the 2 hour Oslo Fjord cruise. The harbor is stunning. Highly recommended to see. Great view of city. Shoreline is beautiful. Boat itself was just ok. Very crowded. Hard to move around for first 30 mins, then got a lot better. Very little info on the sights provided. I booked as part of HMK Grand Tour (590 NOK). Rest of tour was terrific.

“Amazing nature - boat trip”
Reviewed June 14, 2014 via mobile

Went on a fjord cruise in the late morning. The sun was shining and the tempurature hit 23 degrees. The nature along both sides of the fjord was magnificient and it was interesting to see Oslo from another view. My only disappointment was the boat we used for transportation. We sat on uncomfortable wooden benches and the roof on the boat was partly closed so we did not get any sun. The view from the benches was somewhat limited and the crew let too many people on board. We paid 600 NOK for a 2 hour trip that should not have costed more than half of what we paid. My advice is to rent a boat and experience the fjord on your own.

“Great Experience, though different from expected!”
Reviewed June 10, 2014

I had a wonderful 2 hour boat tour of the Oslo Fjord today! I must admit, the Oslo Fjord is not the typical narrow stretch of sea with two towering sheer rock faces to either side that you see in the pictures (those are most often found on the western side of Norway). But it is a very beautiful and relaxing trip nonetheless; and at less than $50 USD, I thought the price was well worth the trip! You see many islands, houses, historical buildings etc. along the trip. Our tour guide (Davina) was delightful, funny, friendly, and extremely informative. She gave us lots of history and interesting anecdotes about the numerous sites that we encountered on the tour, and even came around with maps to help us plan our remaining time in Oslo. It is my opinion that she went above and beyond the call of duty, and I will definitely make sure to take this the Oslo Fjord Boat Tour again in the future!

“Wonderful Views - Definitely Worth the Trip”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

The Oslo Fjord is definitely something worth spending a fair amount of time on. You can really plan your visit on a lot of different levels, from the basic city ferries, to long distance ferries (Such as from Copenhagen), to dedicated cruises. All of which have their merits and can be effectively included in any Oslo/Norway trip (and should be!). If possible, travel with someone who can point out many of the sights you encounter, since there is a deceptively large amount of history to taken in alongside the views!
