Good hotel, near enough to the Oslo underground. Good restaurant but pricey and clean room. A notable bonus is the free wi-fi. Room should have had tea and coffee making facilities.

All at a reasonable cost (for Oslo!). Of course, Oslo prices shock everyone outside Norway so be aware

Rica Helsfyr is conveniently located in midst of offices in the Helsfyr area. This location can't be recommended if you're looking for activities in the evening. There's nothing. But for those wanting an easy access to work or customer in the morning it's ideal.

There's a tube/metro station within a walking distance. Oslo city is thus only some 15 minutes away.

Beware of rooms in the older section of the hotel. They're located adjacent to the highway and are very noisy and also a bit crummy. Renovated rooms are quiet and overall much nicer.

Rooms have decent lighting and the shower produces plenty of warm water from a handheld shower head. That's good and not at all so common.

Restaurant is ok but not cuisine. Expensive as it is Norway.

Gym downstairs consist of a bike, running mat and a "skiing" apparatus. Nothing else. It's kind of a health club with a relaxation room and sauna, but someone forgot to finish the details.

Overall adequate for a business trip or an occasional overnighter. No-no for vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the renovated section overlooking hotel's parking lot.

Location is bad as it is a neighborhood with offices buildings and nothing more, but is perfect if you have to work in the area.
Receptionist are great especially the night shift.
Interiors: It is a perfect example of Scandinavian Frugal Style, so seems a bit overpriced to me.
Easy to reach via car, underground is near and in 15minutes you are downtown. If you like to walk: downtown is 20-30minutes away.
From the airport: instead of the speed train use the SAS flybus: cheaper and leaves you right near the hotel.
Restaurant is a disaster: food sucks as per quality and choices, luckily it cost too much and service is rude. Better to have a tooth pulled: go anywhere else although you need to use the underground and head to center.

This hotel was nice and comfortable, I was welcomed by a nice friendly man at the front desk late at night. The room was spacious and well equipped and the hotel was very reasonably priced. Overall my stay was comfortable. The drawback of this hotel is you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, (the taxi from the airport is horrendously expensive) - there are a few office buildings around but going out anywhere seemed impossible. So ok if you have business in the area but otherwise look closer to Oslo

Dear Guest,
Thank you for feedback. We appreciate every feedback we receive. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Rica Helsfyr Hotel. The taxi from the airport is usually the most expensive way to travel in to Oslo. We can recommend using the Airport Express Coach. The cheapest and quickest way to travel to our hotel is the coach, a 30 minute ride and NOK 150,- for adults.

We would love to have you as a guest again.

The hotel is just off the motorway in the newly developed business park.
The room that we got was well furnished and clean. We got the one facing the car park, therefore it was quiet and we could not hear any noise neither during the night or day.
There are metro and bus stops within 5 minutes walk from the hotel, which made reaching the city center really easy and cheap, since the taxis are quite expensive in Oslo.
Fast and free WiFi with good reception overall the hotel.
Amazing breakfast selection - fresh food and a big variety, so anyone will find something for their liking.
Bar at the evening was a little bit disappointing - few popular cocktails were not available even though offered in the menu.
Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.
Overall - good value for your money, great breakfast menu and service, convenient location.

Room Tip: Ask for the ones facing the car park.

Good hotel, over average. Very good breakfast. Staff helpful
and polite, but not the night watch who was a sourpuss. Rooms good, but our view was over the motorway. Friends have had other rooms and have had a view over Oslo city.

We stayed for 2 nights in Rica Helsfyr Hotel, for holiday purposes. It is located in industrial (offices) area, right next to E6 highway, around 10-20 minutes drive from Oslo sentrum. Large parking area outside the hotel and it's free. There is a bus/tram station nearby (10 minutes walk?), but we didn't use them.

The lobby area is roomy, with several sofa groups. Check-in was smooth. We got family room in 6th (or 7th) floor facing the highway. It is quite large size for Norwegian hotels. A double bed, a sofa bed that can sleep for 2, and good space in between for our 4 years old boy to play around. The bathroom is standard, with bath tub. The room is clean. A bit old if you look at the details (door, windows).

Breakfast was nice, with standard European menu. The restaurant is large, and the staff were friendly. There is a small gym room in the basement, also a sauna next to it.

Overall, it is a nice hotel if you want to stay outside Oslo sentrum.
