Owner description: A historic landmark in the Norwegian consciousness, Holmenkollen embodies more than a century of skiing tradition. Inside the actual ski jump is the Holmenkollen Ski Museum, the world's oldest ski museum. The museum presents over 4,000 years of skiing history and polar exploration artifacts. The observation deck on top of the jump tower offers panoramic views of Oslo. Open 365 days a year!

This is a must see if you are visiting Oslo. Take the Holmenkollen Line that goes to Nordmarka and get off at Holmenkollen Station. Its a short walking distance from the station. I suggest that you make the effort and climb the steps too the top. You will have amazing views of Oslo and Oslofjord and there is also a ski jump simulator.

The Holmenkollen made me question the sanity of ski jumpers. I had no idea that the jumps were so long and so steep. It is nice to have the experience of getting to see it up close.

It is an easy trip there on the subway, but once there, it is quite a steep climb to get to the attraction. If you are handicapped in any way, keep this in mind. Once there though, there are fantastic views of Oslo and the surrounding area. It is worth the trek.

First of the metro ride it self is beautiful. While walking towards the jump tower you will have a great view of the city. The sight of the jump tower it self is breath taking. You can climb to the top of the tower to have a panoramic view of the city.

We visited Oslo on a cruise and it is a beautiful city. The highlight for us was the trip to the ski jump tower. We sorted the trip ourselves as it was fairly easy to do, it took us about 15mins on the metro to get there.

We had to climb up through the spectators seating area which is quite steep but I think there was an easier way but we failed to spot it but for us this added to the adventure as the views were great at every step. We Found our way to the pay booth and the price was reasonable and we were at the top in no time as lift queues were short.

The views from the top were amazing and worth the effort to get there. You could see all of Oslo from the top and could get right up to the starting gate to see the view the ski jumpers have.

The museum was interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Oslo.

The ski jump tower itself is very interesting. Should definitely take the metro up there as it's a fantastic ride with loads of nice views.
