The building was constructed of all Norwegian materials from the hand formed brick on the exterior to the marble and wood on the interior. Wonderful series of murals in the main hall and in several rooms one floor up were painted when the building was completed after World War II pay homage to the Norwegian landscape, the people, their way of life and the resistance during the War. The main hall is where the Nobel Prize ceremonies are held. Don't miss this free visit.
