Excellently laid out, that offer a detailed history both in material and images of what life was like in Norway under Nazi rule. Found it informative and interesting.

In this museum you'll hear a key clip from FDR's 'Look to Norway' speech. I'd had no idea before this visit why the Norwegians would have a monument to FDR near the castle looking at the Peace Center until this context. Norway had been denigrated in the press for being friendly to Germany in WWII (not true except in the Norwegian head of the Nazi Party, whom you'll learn about here). FDR's comments and crediting the Norwegian seamen for saving Europe went a long way. As an American, it's both startling and moving to encounter monuments to my presidents in other countries. The USA may be relatively young and we don't always get it right but sometimes...we do. This museum includes an easily overlooked section on the teachers' resistance that is particularly moving for how the parents supported them in resisting the Nazification of Norwegian education.

This is small but so well done...it filled in many missing bits in the history of who did what in WW11 and is incredibly easy to follow..
