“Unorganized, disjointed”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

The museum obviously had a lot of information to convey but the flow was very off-putting, especially for English speakers (not that we expected it to be tailored to us) Check it out if you have the Oslo pass but only after visiting the Fram and Kon-Tiki, as it is then free. We wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

The coolest parts of the museum were the beanbag room where you're surrounded by floor to ceiling projections of ocean microbes under a microscope and the "Maritime technology today" exhibit, hidden in the back top corner.

“Glad it wasn't my only museum of the day”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

The museum is very stylish and exceptionally well organised with a balance of technology and traditional approaches to exhibits, but it's pretty small, and you can get round it in less than 30minutes. I was a little disappointed to be honest.

“Worth a quick walk thru if you have the Oslo Pass”
Reviewed May 21, 2014

I was very unimpressed by this museum. Most of it is just panels of text. There is one gallery of paintings of nautical paintings. I can't judge this if someone is very interested in Nautical areas. I'm not sure in that case whether it would be good or bad. However for me it was awful.

“The Maritime Museum”
Reviewed May 9, 2014 via mobile

We went yesterday and there was a function on which restricted the museum for viewing. Naturally for a seafaring country the Maritime Museum had plenty of exhibits and history of Norwegian maritime achievement. I am not a boating type but loves the models on display and their shipping history.
It was great to see the size of a cruise liner in the 1970's against what is the norm today. Don't miss it.

Reviewed May 6, 2014

It was a great maritime experience, this musuem shows the Norwegian history and experience of the maritime life, all kinds of sailings, and it is full of simulators where you can learn how to sail and know details about sailing world.
