Although the museum isn’t large it holds the best Viking Ships which were found intact at burial sites and with other items, carts, swords ..etc
A great way to see exactly how large and ornate these ships were! In close proximity to other museums
Tip: travel by ferry easy transition to next museum but the ferry is privately run!

There are three big viking ships in there and that is worth seeing.
It is a little bit crowded in there. You can't go in with big bags (there are lockers where you can leave your bags).

Impressive display but the lighting could be brighter for seeing and reading the plaques of the artifacts in the side displays

On our own from our cruise ship Viking Sky We took the ferry over to Bygdøy island (very convenient) to see the Viking Ship Museum - amazing to stand near so much history - highly recommend. Not feeling guilty of the pleasures of our modern Viking ship!
