I loved this hotel, the staff were very friendly and seemed to bend over backwards for us and the rooms were so unusual! I loved the design on the walls and the colourful lights. The roof balcony also had a spectacular view of the Opera House, that combined with the central location and close proximity to the central station made it an ideal location. You seem to get a lot more than you're paying for, the whole hotel was clean, had iMacs that guests could use, a huge breakfast buffet which even had soya milk! I'm lactose intolerant and vegetarian so it's unusual for me to be spoilt for choice with food but it makes a very pleasant change.

This hotel is perfect for a stay in Oslo!

I can truly recommend this hotel. It's a great location, awesome view to the Opera (if you happen to get a room facing the Opera in upper floors), very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Also the breakfast staff was very flexible: although we came a bit too late to the breakfast we got to eat as much as we wanted and they were still friendly. Value for money!

This hotel was perfect. Right by Oslo Central Station, nice clean room, easy check-in and check-out, really nice staff, great breakfast, inexpensive, and focused on the environment...I would recommend it to anyone, and I am definitely staying here next time I'm in Oslo!

Room Tip: Our room had a great view of the Opera house (don't know which side it was on though!)...

Hi Karen.
Thanks for loving our hotel and taking time to review us on Tripadvisor.
Your room was one of the rooms ending with an odd number.
Like 201, 203, 205, 207...
They have all great view of the opera house.
Welcome back.
Best regards

This is a hotel I'll probably stay at again. Despite a cold and low service atmosphere, bordering on "unfriendly" (you might as well use the self-service check-in, can't feel colder than the lady at the front desk), the location is very central (less than 5 minutes walk from Oslo Central Station), the room price is very acceptable (for Oslo) and the rooms are decent enough. Cleanliness was OK. Breakfast is poor by Norwegian standards, but you can survive on it. Don't even think of this hotel as an attraction in itself - whether you are in Oslo for business or tourism, you will probably be out and about all day anyway, and this is just a decent place to catch some sleep.

Room Tip: Get a room as high up as possible - will reduce traffic noise.

Hi sigmundm.
Thank you for taking time to review us on Tripadvisor.
To be greeted here should absolutely not feel like an unpleasant experience.
We will take this to us as an advise for future guests.
The hotel is a low-price hotel with focus on good rooms, good price and good location.
All in all pretty damn good. We take pride in free high speed Wlan, easy check-in/out solutions,
free coffee and tea and long breakfast times in weekend when guests like to sleep longer.
But all with a smile and friendly attitude.
Thanks again.
Best regards

My son and I stayed there last June and enjoyed our visit. We had a room facing the opera house and harbor. The hotel was not a 5 star nor did they advertise it that way. It was basic and clean. No coffee maker or mini fridge but there was ice available off the lobby and coffee made all day in the lobby area. There was a tv and the beds were comfortable. The airport is quite a ways out from Oslo so a train was the best way into the city. The train station is only a few blocks from the hotel so we never even used a taxi there. Oslo is a very expensive city and the price for a room at this hotel was very reasonable for Oslo. The opera house was close as was Karl Johan Street, the main walking street for shopping. Fast food restaurants near by along with upper end dining. Supermarket located in the train station. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the opera house and harbour.

Hi 767captlarry.
Thanks for your review here at Tripadvisor.
You are absolutely right. We are not a 5 star hotel.
With no person running around filling up minibars and
making sure all the coffee machines are functional we
save money which we give back in good prices for your stay.
Coffee and tea is free and always available in our lobby.
It's great to hear you enjoyed our central location and the
rooms facing the opera house is a great way to experience
the brand new and developing part of the city called Bjørvika.
Welcome back to Oslo and Comfort Hotel Børsparken.
Best regards
