A beautiful building with stunning architectural features both inside and out. take a walk up to the roof and look over the fjord and Oslo harbour.
I did not have a chance to see an opera here but the building itself is worth a visit.

This building rivals Sydney for impact. With the genius idea of allowing walkways up to its roof, providing views across Oslo and its fjord, even on a bitter winter day, it's worth your while walking round the exterior and then having a coffee in the downstairs bar to marvel at the views from inside (and of the wooden sauna boats with people jumping into the fjord after heating up inside). It really is world-class architecture and I'd love to see a performance here too.

We walked in on a cold evening to get some warmth. The building itself attracts attention from the outside near the waterfront. Very impressive and many like us was enticed to walk in. It was equally impressive from the inside as well. The cloakroom was avant garde and most interesting. White spacious spaces all around. Unfortunately we weren't able to join the tour as it was closed for the day. Those who loved opera and orchestra would be thrilled to join the tour and see it from the inside.
