This stunning building rises out of the water like a stark white iceberg. Yet it is very accessible. One can walk up and along the roof and have views of the harbor.
Inside, the lines are beautiful, with a sense of space and light. The woods are very beautiful.
A splendid place to see an opera.

There are 2 restaurants in the Opera house. One fine dining restaurant and a cafe-type restaurant in the lobby area. Both are expensive. The food in the fine dining is actually very good. In the lobby- I´ve had both bad and good experiences. However the price here is stiff, so for a meal with some atmosphere you should probably choose the fine dining area if you want to go to a show afterwards or before.

Having only seen this building from the outside, the visual effect is truly stunning. Next time we visit our family here in Oslo we must venture inside.

Climb up the roof & get a great view of Oslo & the fjord. Inside is also worth a look even if you don't see a show

The building is very striking, with good cloakroom facilities, a bar, restaurant and cafe plus terrace seating overlooking the water. Note: there's an enormous amount of building work going on around the area so tricky to get to at present.
Top tip: walk around the back (water side) and you'll be able to see into the workshops and wardrobe areas where wigs, props and costumes are. Fascinating.
