Description: Cru focuses on the combination of food and wine, and the restaurant at Majorstua uses mostly Norwegian ingredients. In the restaurant uppstairs food is served as set 3, 5 and 7-course meals that change with the seasons. In the cellar there is a cosy winebar, on the menu you can find small dishes to share, maincourses or just some snacks. Cru has one of Oslo's largest wine lists, with wines in all price categories both by the glass or bottle.

Amazing food and drinks. Cosy upper class dining place in Majorstua, best west of Oslo. Just a stone throw away from the areas main shopping street Bogstadveien. There are a more casual dining area/bar in the basement. Fantastic service. Be prepared to pay up.

We (two friends of mine and I) dined there a few days ago. All of us chose the 5-course meny. They do not offer a wine "package", but had plenty of good wines by the glass and we successfully let the waiter/sommelier take care of that part!

The food is good, but the servings are rather small - even for a 5 course menu. The wines are very good, but again - they come in small servings.

All in all, there are better places in Oslo in the same price range, where you get better value for money, especially when it comes to the servings...

We spent a Friday evening here,6 colleagues celebrating the start of the new year.
With a set menu and 3, 5 or 7 courses, we felt we could relax and let the restaurant choose for us. Wise choice.
We went for the 5 course meal and I asked the stafff (before we arrived 9 to prepare a wine menu at around the same price as the 5-course meal, or NOK 555.- per person.

The staff very pleasantly and compentetnly told us about the wines, the dishes and a few of the new and unusual ingredients - very nice. From start to end we were treated well and all our stupid questions about wine or food were nicely answered.
The food was good, not spectacular but very well prepared. This isn't high fashion cuisine but Norwegian produce cooked at its best.

This is a wine-lovers place, it feels like the food is built around the wine and the donstairs winebar is now my new favourite place in Oslo. Yes of course wine is expensinve at restaurants in Norway. If that bothers you, then you're not in the wrong restaurant, you're in the wrong country.

Cur offers probably Oslo's best wine prices, put togehter with nice food and very friendly staff - it's a great place to spend an evening!

The hype for Cru when it opened it was the best and most innovative restaurant in Oslo, where everyone wanted a reservation. Once the coveted reservation was acquired I was disappointed in my very high expectations. The food is good, but I was expecting excellent. My expectation was of great Scandinavian cuisine and it fell short on delivery. High prices for food with minimal innovation and the presumption they are making food and combining flavors that you never had before.

Cru is a place where the waiter carefully describes the wine and the food before serving. The guests swirl the wine in the glass, as in wine tasting, and you smell the bouquet of the wine before drinking it.
One can eat quite reasonable, but if the occasion calls for something special, it is possible to put together menus of three, five or seven dishes. We went all the way down the gourmet adventures road – seven dish along with our waiter’s wine recommendation for each of them-
The service was good, the servings was great and the food and wine - well matching - was excellent!
