Stayed here for a weekend. The rooms are a bit small for any longer than that really, but are modern and clean. The shower has extremely hot and powerful water, such that the bathroom gets soaked and steamy. There is free coffee from a decent machine in the lobby, with an alternative of Twinings fruit teas.

The hotel is marketed towards the 'young adult' clientele and is close to bars and restaurants, but also it is only ten minutes from most attractions in Oslo centre. A great no-frills yet modern and clean hotel for short trips.

This is one of best budget hotels in Oslo. It is also stragetically located...near Karl Johansgata, Oslo S, Oslo Cathedral and more.

I love the idea of self check-in. The interior of the room is also good, very chic and modern.

There were only two things that need to be improved. 1) A faster elevator. 2) Add more light inside the room, seems so dim.

But over-all, this hotel is worth your money.

Comfort Hotel Xpress was a good place to briefly stay in Oslo. My friend and I were only spending a day so we weren't too concerned with staying at anywhere fancy. Just as long as it was clean and a good location and this hotel fit the bill. We arrived via the overnight train from Stavanager and were really tired but had researched and saw the hotel was within walking distance of the train station. I do not recommend walking with a lot of luggage (there's a storage area for 50 kroner in the station) as it's not as close as it appears and is up a hill. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they would not allow us to check-in early and said we could come back in a few hours and it would be an extra 100 kroner fee. For a large hotel, it was 10 floors, I felt this policy wasn't very good. In fact, I wouldn't stay there again due to this policy.

Check-in wasn't as easy as it looks with the kiosks. In fact, I wonder if many have issues because several staff members were standing around at the ready to help. My booking number couldn't be found (brief moment of panic!) so a man checked us in. He was nice, and instructed us how to use the elevator and that was it. I guess if you're just staying one night you don't get the whole welcome spiel which was fine with me because I was tired.

The room was small. Tiny bed. The television was nice. You had put your key card in a slot in order to turn on lights. If you're trying to charge something and turn the lights off then it stops charging which was very inconvenient as we tried to charge phones overnight. Note of warning for all American travelers, and this is for all hotels, you need to buy a universal plug because our sockets are different and you will never find a hotel that has the US version overseas (or an airport that has it). The bathroom was interesting. The toilet was square. The shower did not have a door and you had to control the shower head so water went everywhere each time we used it. Plenty of towels which we used in the end to mop up the water. The bed was okay- tiny but comfortable.

The hotel is near many tourist attractions and shopping areas. We were able to walk only a few minutes and be at the central train station and near shops and restaurants. It was a great location to explore the city.

The hotel is five minutes walking from Central Station and near the city center. It was very easy to find.

The room was clean and modern and had free WIFI.

I think It's a good choice for visiting Oslo.

Spent a weekend in Oslo and found this hotel when planning the trip. The price was very good, even compared to other cities in Europe. We paid 180 euros for 2 nights in a doubleroom incl. breakfast delivered to the door.
The hotel is centrally located, with easy acess to Karl Johan. Lobby is stylish and somewhat youthful. Rooms are small, but enough for spending a couple of nights. What we immediately noticed is the lack of quality in details. Almost everything in the room was the cheapest possible item on the market and assembled in a hurry. That goes for the shower, toilet, lamps, contacts etc. If they dont keep up maintenance this place will be run down in no time.
Breakfast was delivered in a bag at the door and contained a nice sandwich, youghurt, orange juice and a fruit. This was perfect for us!
All in all, good value in an extremely expensive city. As long as you dont pay attention to details...

Our family had a great stay at this hotel for two nights in September. The room was quiet, rennovated within the last couple of years, with a big tv and nice shower. The staff were friendly ans there is a good gym on forst floor.
We didn't have breakfast so can't comment. We ate all our meals from right across the street, an amazing food take.

as the hotel stated, for them to bring the cost down, there will be no make-up for room nor towel changes, even with self check-in and out. which was fine for the room got everything we basically needed, free coffee and tea were just steps away in the lobby. the location is great, very closed to the central station, and a lot of different ethnic foods around the back of the hotel. the rooms are modern and new, so very clean. we got assigned to a triple beds room even though we booked for a double bed, that was even better for it was very spacious. not many decently priced hostel in the oslo area unless you want to share room and bath with other people. so thank you Comfort Hotel Xpress, we love oslo and we enjoyed our stay very much!
